Hello, that is a good question. I use the Diva vaginal laser and it works very well for vaginal tightening. It is an office based treatment that requires a topical anesthetic (numbing) lotion to the vagina. This makes the procedure very comfortable and it only takes about 5 minutes. It is very safe. The most common side effects include mild swelling, discharge, discomfort and itching lasting for about 48-72 hours. A single-use quartz dilator is placed in the vagina, which covers the laser. Hello, it is normal to have some discharge, swelling, discomfort and itching after the Diva treatment. This typically last for 48-72 hours and may vary depending on the extent of your treatment. These symptoms are usually not significant enough to interfere with your normal activities of daily living. During this time period refrain from intercourse or placing anything inside your vagina. Hello, unfortunately, Diva vaginal laser therapy is not covered by insurance, at this time - although it has dramatically improved the lives of many woman. There are several larger studies underway now (as well as some published smaller studies) to further prove it's efficacy. Hopefully, in due time, insurance carriers will value it's benefit. As a gynecologist, I believe it's impact is paramount.
