QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Ibuprofen and its effects on microneedling? Does this negate the positive effects of the procedure?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Ibuprofen and other medications that inhibit platelets can increase bruising when taken prior to microneedling. For this reason we recommend that you avoid them for about two weeks prior to any aesthetic procedure involving needles. Tylenol is not in this category. After the procedure, however we recommend that you avoid anti-inflammatory drugs completely. Again Tylenol is not in this category. With micro needling and other non-invasive facial aesthetic procedures, we are creating an injury. Your body responds with inflammation which stimulates new collagen formation and younger looking skin. Anti-inflammatory medications at this point may not totally negate the effects but certainly would be counterproductive.

Will getting Sculpture cause any infertility issues?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You should be sure that you are not pregnant at the time of the procedure. This is sometimes hard to be sure of unless you are on oral contraceptives. If you are not on the pill you should do the procedure during days 1-10 of your cycle. It is my recommendation that women planning to conceive spend the 12 months prior getting to be the healthiest they have ever been. Eat fruits and veggies, exercise, drink clean water, sleep 7 hours uninterrupted every night, take your vitamins, and get ready for an amazing adventure!
