He is an amazing surgeon. He is a perfectionist when it comes to your eyes. He performed the same surgery on a friend of mine two years ago. I had my eyes done 2 years prior with a different surgeon but needed a redo.
I waited for years to do my upper eyelids because I was really scared to get botched as the eyes are the first thing people notice when they look at your face. I was afraid of having the pulled (overdone) look. I really didnt even need to tell Dr Berris how I wanted to look because he's done so many of these I think he just gets it. My eyes healed pretty quickly. I had numbness for a few months and then it went away. I had no issues with scars, no issues at all really. My eyes look totally natural and I dont think people even really notice anything except that maybe I look more well rested. I did a lot of research and I'm happy that I went with Dr Berris. He is the man when it comes to eyes. If you're considering getting your eyes done this is the doctor you want to do it.
This is an overdue positive review for Dr. Craig Berris in Sacramento, CA. He performed my lower Bleph surgery in June 2015. Dr. Berris is an ophthalmologist and an oculoplastic surgeon which made me very confident with his level of expertise and experience. He has done thousands of these types of surgeries. I found him do to another review on this site. I really believe it is worth it to go to a specialist especially when it concerns work on the eyes. I was considering doing both upper and lower eyelid but the Dr. convinced me that my upper eyelids really didn't need much so I just did the lower. I had issues with bags and fat starting to bulge out from behind my skin. I learned the approach taken for each surgery is going to be slightly different depending on the situation so recovery and bruising may be different in each case. In my case the Dr. did not remove the fat from under my eyes but rather, repositioned it. He did tighten up and remove a tiny bit of skin from under my eyes. I did have big black Frankenstein sutures under my eyes for a week to hold the repositioned fat in place... not pretty let me tell you. I also had tiny, tiny stitches along my lower lash line that were not visible. I have never had any type of surgery other than dental so I was scared but the procedure was performed under conscious sedation and it was over before I knew it. To make a long story short... I experienced minimal pain and only took Motrin, no pain killers. I did experience swelling for the first three days and then it started to go down. I had bruising but not severe. I had a small amount of stubborn bruising that persisted for about three weeks. You will need to hide from the world if your stitches looked like mine for at least a week. Honestly, that was the hardest part. My stitches came out after a week and I went to work the day after. I still didn't look great but I work with two others in a small office that I know and trust. In other cases, I would plan on a two week hiatus for this surgery! I am very happy with the results. I am 47 and am glad I didn't wait any longer as I feel much happier with my looks. I a few years I will go back for the upper eyelid... that is much easier than the lower I have been told. The only downside I can report is the office tends to run behind and the Dr. is very busy. You will end up waiting past your appointment time. Otherwise, he is very pleasant and easy to talk to. The staff is also very nice and helpful. If you are thinking about it... just do it!!!
Happy with results! I had light acne scars in the form of brown spots and some hyperpigmentation from sun exposure. Went for 5 treaments (in conjunction with regular facials inbetween services and the Obagi system products) my results were great. Would do this series again. Keep in mind if you're active outside (running, boating etc) you'll need to keep this up. I just can't seem to stay out of the sun :)
I had Dr. Berris do lower eyelid surgery due to deep tear troughs that always made me look tired and old at 45. He did an outstanding job, I healed very quickly, with beautiful lasting results. I always felt that I was in very experienced hands. It has now been 8 years since the procedure, and I have no complaints whatsoever with the results. I need an upper eyelid lift this time, and I won't go to anyone else.
I am 42yrs old and 7 days into PO. No Pain at all. My eyelids are going to look great once the swelling is gone. Will take another week or so. As you can see from my pics I am healing very fast, I am lucky to be able to work from home but if you have to go back to work in a office or so, give yourself 14 days. I went to a Doc who does only eyelid surgery and Face lifts. Nothing else. So try to avoid those doctors who do it all. Have it done by a specialist! Updated on 29 Apr 2009:
