There are safe and effective treatments for your veins. Before doing treatment your doctor will want to know if you have any signs or symptoms of serious underlying vein disease. For example, if you have aching, heavy and tired legs the doctor may recommend an ultrasound examination of the veins in your legs to see if there is problem that needs treatment deeper in the leg. If you are not having any leg symptoms, and simply want some cosmetic treatment of the veins, it can be done in the office. If there are bulging veins, the doctor may remove them with a microphlebectomy procedure or he/she may be able to treat everything with with sclerotherapy. Good luck.
There is no problem performing an EVLT procedure on a leg with a tattoo in the same area. The procedure heats the vein and for safety the doctor will be careful that the vein is not too close to the skin to be sure none of the heat reaches the skin. Therefore, the treatment should always be far enough away from the skin that it will never be affected, tattoo or not. Go ahead and get the treatment if your doctor thinks it is appropriate. Good luck.
