This is a very specific drug in cancer treatment so initially, it can look like there is not a contraindication. There is a listed side effect of losing bone density which can lead to osteoporosis. This doesn't rule out having dental implants, but you need to approach it with caution. I would urge you to speak with your oncologist and dental surgeon to determine if your bone density, overall health, and energy levels are good enough for dental implant surgery. Many times, timing of your cancer treatment need to be well coordinated with dental surgery. Ideally, you will want to be in overall good physical condition so that the implant has the best chance at integrating with the jaw bone and tissue. Medications such as these may delay or increase the overall healing time needed for the dental implant to integrate with the jaw bone.
