Dr. Stanko is the worst dermatologist and very rude. Top Doc - NOT!!! I specifically requested her to look at my shoulders to see what was going on with the hyperpigmentation on my shoulders and specifically asked if they had a wood's lamp to determine how deep the pigment was and solutions to lighten it up. She walked in to the appt. took a 5 second look, said melasma on my shoulders, wear sunscreen and long sleeves and billed my insurance $250 and charged me an $80 co pay. Ummm tell me something I don’t know!!! She couldn’t wait to get out of the room. Offered no solutions as to treatment. Didn’t look under a woods lamp like I requested ... and was told when I called in that she is the master at dealing with Melasma. She said I have to deal with it. I thought doctors are supposed to help you, not make you feel worse. So prior to this I was getting TCA treatments for that same area, but wanted to consult with her since the first treatment didnt do much and had a credit of $900. Well at this point I never wanted to come back to there again because of her manners, limited time she took with me and nerve of her to bill my insurance. They told me at the front desk that they would refund the money but take out what I owed for this appt (co-pay) after they submitted to my insurance and refund the rest to me in a check. So I received the check in the mail less approx $40 some dollars of what I owed that insurance did not cover. Well 5 months later I get a bill for $40 and I called in to say I paid it from the balance. They said they would look into a get back to me. Now fast forward to 8 months later and I received a bill from a collections agency looking to collect $40 plus interest - $54. I think not. Now they are trying to tell me that the money they took out of the check was the prorated amount for the full payment of the TCA service I received since it wasn't the package deal they gave to me. NO statement, NO letter, NO communication ever in regards to that. That was not the deal she I left the office that day and it was not communicated to me at a later date either. I got treated poorly by their so called TOP Doc. I should not have to pay for her rude manners and mistreatment of patients nor 5 seconds of her time equating to $250 plus dollars. They told me they were taking the payment for insurance out of my balance ... not charging me full price for an all together different treatment that she said would not correct the issue. She said herself wear sunscreen and long sleeves .. she provided NO treatment plan so why would I continue on with a $900 worth of TCA treatments by the esthetician if she herself didn't believe in it. ya know her who 5 second look at my arms do yourself a favor and never step foot in this office. they are a waste of time. I am seeking an attorney for sending my bill to a collection agency and for charging my insurance when she didnt even do her job. it's time to take a stance.
