Wonderful, I forgot I was at the doctors office, very pleasant experience. Dr.Okasi was very knowledgeable, her staff was friendly and professional. The office was modern and clean. My new favorite OB/Gyn!
Hello, thanks for asking these questions. When it comes to choice of doctor, it all comes down to comfort level. Gynecologists work 100% in the vagina through all stages of woman's life. However, when it comes to cosmetics, some plastic surgeons have received additional training to do a great job. Either type of physician with a compassionate bedside manner whose vibe aligns with yours is usually your best choice:-) Let's consider the specific issues you raised: 1. Leakage of urine can be evaluated by a gynecologist or urologist or urogynecologist. It is crucial to first figure out the actual cause of the leakage. That would determine what type of treatment would work. Procedures are not always the answer. 2. Loss of sensation: Again, this can be evaluated by a gyno or urogynecologist simply because we see this several times a day and can tease through all possible underlying causes of the problem (looseness, tightness, dryness, hormonal imbalance, medication interaction, previous treatments, etc). Performing treatments like Thermiva is actually easy but the skill lies in first figuring out if you would be a good candidate. If your diagnosis is off, so will the treatment be. 3. Can my G-spot be improved so I can orgasm with sex? The O shot may help with orgasm. 4. Can I get insurance to pay for the functional part? Insurance companies unfortunately consider most vaginal procedures elective and will not pay. Many offices offer affordable financing options. Best of luck to you.
