I has juvederm done in my lips by a PS that I thought I really trusted. He has done my botox. I have Juvederm done several times by "techs" at 2 other places and had great results. I was due and thought That this DR would do a fabulous job because he is a PS. I wanted my lip line done and if needed a little plumping. In the past one vial would do my lips and a few smile lines. I was "numbed" with a topical cream which I have never had not need before. When he started injecting it hurt so bad I had tears running down my cheeks. He ONLY injected (almost the whole syringe) in the TOP lip and one dot on the bottom. I bled like crazy and actually was spitting out blood when I went to wash my face(never had to do that either) I went home severely bruised but figured it would heal. I called 4 days later as I had a HUGE upper lip and NO bottom lip. Was told to apply heat. This helped the bruises. As I stated he did not inject the bottom (except for one dot you can see in pics) I went in on day 8 hoping to have some of the top "dissolved" and some added to the bottom. He was very rude...never seen this side of him. He said I needed to wait 6 WEEKS!! WHAT? All the other times by day 8 my lips look great. I tried to get him to do something and he never even "felt" the top lip or the lumps etc. Just looked at me and said I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE HAVE A ISSUE WITH LIPS. That to me says..RUN... no one can do a perfect job every single time. If I came in unhappy he should have been more understanding not condescending and done something to fix the problem. It was not just me not "liking" them it was that they Looked horrible. I was then told MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY A LIPLINER....again WHAT??? He also told me to use heat and massage against my teeth. I re-booked for 2 weeks NOT 6 and left, got in my car and cried. I have never spent over 400.00 and been thrilled, little bruising or swelling but this was totally different. This was over 600.00 and horrible then to be treated so awful. I will post pics from what he did. As I then contacted a friend who referred me to a tech at a different place. She spent over and hour fixing his mess and they look awesome.. at day 1! I will post those as an update as not to be confusing. If I can save one person from going through what I did then I did my part. Wish someone had saved me the money and mess. Updated on 14 Feb 2015: OOPS I posted in comments then this popped up..So Now I can Update! I went yesterday after meeting with Dr Thompson and him doing nothing and I had another "opinion."I messaged a friend I know who gets things done and she helped me out!! She got ahold of a gal and She came in on her day off due to my situation and pics I sent her.( i never tell anyone I have things done and no one can "tell" cause it is always so natural. People were looking at me and asking what happened. She could not believe he would allow or want me walking around looking like I did. She spent over an hour and stayed after closing just to take care of me. She very very slowly dissolved some of the upper lip. She could not believe how much juvederm was in just my upper lip(almost a whole syringe) and how thick my lip line was. She then injected the bottom and kept checking until it was right. I had NO numbing cream. Did not feel a thing,ONE teeny bruise, NO bleeding, minimal swelling and my lips look awesome!! I can even move my lips like when putting on lip stick. I could not do this with how dense the upper lip was. It was a "roll." I now know that just because they have a MD behind their name does not a "excellent injector" make. I also know no one is perfect but the DR would not own up to that, which is a huge mistake. I know where I will go for all my future procedures. I have had many procedures done, BA, TT,(Through another PS and he did awesome) Botox and Juvederm and thought I was doing my research. I guess my first red flag should be there was Never any other patients in his office but me every time I went. After this and the fact this gal just fixed another one of his patients 2 weeks ago I won't ever go back and I hope this helps the next person.
