Possible that Juvederm under the eyes can cause prolonged and excessive watering/tearing afterwards?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It is possible that the tearing is occurring from the pressure from the juvederm product. Most of the time, this goes away, as the product settles. Since it is may, I would suggest that if is continues to bother you, that you can have a small amount of  the product dissolved, just enough to relieve the pressure on the tear duct area.

Injector too harsh? Hematoma, bruise spreading and swelling after Juvederm on lips. (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

There is a lot of filler placed in to your lip, which maybe the reason that you are having so much swelling. I would  suggest that you use another experienced injector, who may use another technique like the cannula, which may cause less bruising. Also using less product may help as well, more is not always better, and your body may not be able to tolerate too much product all at once. I would still continue your arnica. Also adding Quercetin- which is a supplement that can help with swelling. It can be purchased at whole foods.

I had a Restylane injected in my tear troughs 4 days ago. (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This area commonly bruises, and you can get some redness as well, with that said, I think it would help to use arnica montana( extra strength) to help with the bruising. I would suggest that you take it as directed for the next 5 days. Unfortunately, the bruises can take up to 10 days to resolve. It will look very good, and well worth the bruises in the long run. Buy a good quality concealer to help cover them up.

My mouth droops on one side. I was thinking about asking for Refyne or Defyne? Which one? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Since I do not have an entire picture of your face, it is difficult to an adequate assessment of your face. Sagging of the corners of your mouth usually involves loss of volume from the cheeks as well. I would start by replacing volume in the cheeks, using Restylane lyft which can be used deeper and gives great support. Then after that, I would use Restylane Lyft at the corners of your mouth as well. When evaluating the face, I always like to do a global assessment.

What is wrong with the left side of my lip after Juvederm injections and will/how can this go away? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

In general, I would not judge your lips at this point, it takes a good 2 weeks to let the product settle in and for your lips to heal.  If then you see some uneven parts on your lips, you have 2 choices. 1. Add more product, or 2. dissolve some. In general I would add because the doctor will have more control of the ultimate results. Also remember that in general, each side of our face is not exactly the same, but if it ends up looking very different than it should be corrected. Have patience with yourself and try not to look at them so much, healing is a process, it takes time. I think your doctor did a nice job.

How Much Does Restylane Cost?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Whenever considering treatment, I would not go by price, but experience. There are many new techniques for injecting the fillers, and knowing the product and where it can be used safely and naturally is the key to the entire treatment. I think going for the consultation and understanding how the doctor injects is the key, and seeing before and after pictures. You can use a small amount of filler, and save money, and sometimes get a better results than adding a lot of filler at a discount price. You where your face everyday. If I feel a patient needs more filler than they want to spend, I tell them to come back when they have enough money to have it done right, instead of not using enough product. This has always been my philosophy.

If Restalyne injections turned out bumpy and not smooth, can my doctor fix this or do I have to stay with my bumpy face? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Restylane when injected initially can be felt and sometimes seen as lumpy. However, after 2 weeks, because it absorbs water, this usually resolves. You may feel the product but should not be able to see it. I am not sure by your picture where the product was placed. I am assuming under your eyes, and in that case it can swell. I suggest you take Quercetin, which is a supplement that helps with inflammation( it has bromelian in it as well- which helps with swelling) . Also use Arnica Montana for the next week, and that should help. It can always be dissolved, but why do that until you give your body sometime to heal.

Filler at eye area (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You say that it was injected in lower face but your picture is near your eye. Either way, it is really hard to tell where the placement of the product was, so I can clearly answer your question. My suggestion is to have it dissolved with haluronidase. It may be pressing on a nerve that is causing these symptoms. The products rarely cause an allergic reaction, but everyone is different. If it is from the filler the symptoms should resolve. Most allergic reactions occur sooner than a year later.

I had hyaluronic acid injected to my nasolabial folds yesterday. Is this normal? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
It appears that you have a lot of swelling in the area. I think if you have any concerns, it is important to return to your doctor and have them take a look at the area. In general, I tell my patients that they should not be able to visibly see the product placed. They may feel some lumps in the first couple of weeks, but these should resolve with time. If the product is actually visible, my suggestion, is they may need to dissolve it so that it is not visible. In general, we are not placing product as frequently in the nasalabial folds, I find you can get a better result by placing the product in the cheeks, and which in turn lifts the folds and makes them less prominent.

I have two-fold under eye bags after Voluma treatment. What's the best way to fix it?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Thank you for sending your photos. I would suggest you return to your dermatologist and have them place some hyaluronidase under your eyes and dissolve some of the Voluma. This can be done very easily in the office and the results can be seen in a couple of days. You should be set to go by Thanksgiving.

Dr. Cheryl Perlis is a masterful artist who literally took of 10 years when she performed botox and fillers to my face. Her injections were virtually painless and she took the time to carefully listen to me before she did the injections. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking anti-aging fillers and botox.

As a cosmetic surgeon it was hard to find someone who I could trust with my face. Dr. Perlis has delivered consistent and natural results everytime with my botox and fillers. she keeps me in check when I ask her for more fillers and I love that about her. She diagnosed my hypothyroidism and has helped me keep my hormones in place. I'm very happy with my treatment and results.

FIller Augments Botox Use!! - Lake Bluff, IL

Price point for me meant Botox only. The first use of fillers and botox together had amazing results! What a disservice I had done by "saving money" and only using Botox. Dr. Perlis never pushed the use of fillers; I was a loyal Botox user. Adding in the fillers has made the results so much softer, smoother and has lasted over 8 months so far. Dr. Perlis's touch was very pain light and with no downtime and minimal if any bruising! I need to head back in for a minor touch up.....

GREAT Experience - Love my Juvederm Results! - Lake Bluff, IL

I really love my Juvederm results! I'm new to facial fillers (I did Botox before) so I was hesitant at first, but Dr. Perlis made me feel very comfortable and she took the time to answer all of my questions. My results ended up looking very natural - not overdone at all which I REALLY appreciated. I highly recommend Dr. Perlis to anyone who could use a little "lift". Her office and staff are lovely as well. Great experience, thank you.

30 Years Old, Thyroid and Hormone Issues. Lake Bluff, IL

I had thyroid problems for years before moving to the Chicago area. When I moved here I had deal with government doctors telling me that I did not have a problem with my thyroid and needed depression medicine, not thyroid treatment. This was infuriating to me! I found Dr. Perlis who agreed they were only treating what my insurance would cover, not me as a person. She properly treated my thyroid and introduced me to HCG weight loss. I had heard of it before, but was much more comfortable doing through Perlis Wellness Center because it is medically supervised and I knew would be the real thing. I lost 24 lbs in one month and it taught me how to eat and really live! Her staff was completely supportive along the way and I felt like they were always available to answer my questions. What's more is before I visited Dr. Perlis I was doing way too much. She treated my hormones as well, which I had no idea would be a problem since I am only 30, but they were depleted. Thanks to Dr. Perlis, after close to a year of trying, I will soon be having my first baby!!! I am convinced had I never gone to see Dr. Perlis I would not be starting my family now. Please don't concede to what conventional doctors tell you. Listen to yourself and me :) Go to Perlis Wellness Center!!!
