I have been on and off the fence for different procedures over the years. Dr. Tosoni kindly & generously consulted me via email several times. She gave her honest opinion and actually was less critical than I expected. I suggested various things I thought I needed and she said I didn't need what I thought I did & suggested others and of course suggested that I come in so she could see me face to face. She seems to genuinely care about each individual. Her reviews are awesome as well and I can see why. Prices are competitive for this area.
I have been meaning to see this doctor for some time now and finally had the chance to meet Dr Tosoni a few days ago. Her lovely boutique style office is conveniently located on Clarence Street downtown which happens to be right across the street from my hairstylist. I was greeted by Catherine her assistant who was professional and friendly from start to finish. Upon meeting Dr. Tosoni, she was friendly and patient and most importantly she listened. She didn’t try to upsell me on anything I didn’t require or dismiss anything I was looking for as I had experienced with other doctors in the past. I did some filler for my laugh line and was very happy with the results. I am 42 years old and slowly noticing the signs of aging and want to do small things now before aging really takes it toll and surgery is required. I am looking a few years younger and it has given me an extra confidence boost. Dr Tosoni is a very skilled injector and recognized for this. I did do my research. I will definitely return. Once I find someone I like, I stay with them. Thank you again for making it my time at your office a great experience! I will be back! Updated on 30 Aug 2018: I’m turn a year older next week and thought I would do something nice for myself. I had visited Dr Tosoni last month for juvederm filler in the laugh line area and was very happy. Please see my other review. This time I wanted to do my lips which I had done twice in the past before but only a 0.5 ml of filler which gave me a little pout but wanted to try a full syringe of juvederm. I wanted something that wasn’t over the top or looked fake so I went to Dr Tosoni as she is a gifted injector ( look at her Instagram page and you will see). She has the ability to make you look natural without looking like “you’ve had work done”. I also got 28 units of Botox in my forehead for those pesky 11 wrinkles between my eyes that tend to show up once in a while. Overall the experience went very smoothly and I spent about 45 mins there. She froze my lips on all 4 sides with an ice pack but did one section at a time. It really didn’t hurt at all. Naturally my lips were swollen and felt a bit itchy a few hours later but this morning when I woke up, the swelling had subsided. I’m very happy with the results. Thanks Dr Tosoni! Updated on 12 Sep 2018: It’s been 2 weeks today and the swelling is long gone. I’m very happy with my lips and thought about one more syringe but still on the fence about it. You know they say once you start with lips, you don’t want to stop. ;) Updated on 18 Oct 2018: Still happy with my lips but will probably go for another 1 ml in the next few months to really get some more volume. I really like the shape and how it brings out my cupid’s now. I have to get some microblading done on my skinny eyebrows first. Updated on 19 Dec 2018: I like my lips but regret not doing another syringe so that they were fuller. I had never done a full syringe so was testing the waters. I could have benefited from a second one. Now that I’m done with my microblading, I will have to go for another lip injection in the new year.
Last year I had five fraxel treatments. Most of my fine lines and crows feet have disappeared. My doctor recommended I have one fraxel/year to keep up the collagen production. I just had a fraxel dual tonight. It is not as deep a tx, but will remove my dark spots and treat small wrinkles as well. I have just turned forty, and have nicer skin now than I did when I was thirty! I think it is worth the dollars if you can afford it. I wish I had before/after pictures. There is some down time, particularly after the first one which was the worst for me. Very swollen and red. Not sure what I will look like after the dual though. I take 600mg ibuprofen before going and along with the numbing gel the pain is tolerable. Some parts of my face hurt more than others but overall worth the pain. Some people are not happy with the results, but I have nothing negative to say. Pricey, yes, but in the long run worth it. Make sure you are assessed by a physician first. I made sure the physician was the one to perform the tx. Updated on 8 Oct 2011: Two days post fraxel dual: Skin is dark, and feels like sandpaper, also starting to peel. All "normal" and expected. I had 40% done, not sure what that number is in terms of the level of laser..I have read some pretty scary stories people have...sagging skin? Not one of the side effects I could find in any journals or reviews, nor did my Physician encounter this at all..maybe laser not done properly or done too high. Also I only had a 2/10 pain experience, maybe up to a 4 on the fourth pass of the laser. I read stories where people were in tears and it makes me wonder who is doing this proceedure to them? Updated on 23 Oct 2011: Almost three weeks post fraxel dual and I am just amazed at the difference...all of my dark age/sun spots are gone! Not one left! Skin is so rosy and fresh looking. I am just thrilled with the result. I recommend this proceedure to anyone...honestly I don't know how some of the people here have such horrible experiences because mine was so posititve. I have now had six fraxels in total and would do it all over again. I think the most important thing is to find a physician who has a lot of clinical experience with the laser...
I've had botox for crows feet and upper lip lines three times now. I'm 37 and didn't like the amount of wrinkles I already had. I love it! It works wonders on the crows feet. You have to go to a reputable doctor that has a lot of experience. There's no down time, and results last about 4-5 months, but eventually will last longer and will be able to space out tx's. Good luck!
Just had first fraxel four days ago..here's my scoop. The doctor covered my face with a freezing jel..I waited an hour and then had the treatment. Pain wasn't half as bad as I expected by reading reviews here. I'd say about 4/10. Some areas were more sensitive than others, and the closer she got to the hairline the more it hurt. I had fraxel re-store. Apparently re-pair is much more painful as per my doctor. Make sure you ask which you are having. I took two extra strength tylenol one hour before going and I think this helped.. Now, as for the down time..it's at least two to three days. I was terribly swollen the first two days, and looked really odd..my eyes were almost swollen shut that first morning I woke up. Now my skin is really itchy and peeling. All these things I was told to expect. There were no surprises. I have purchased a package of five. Will let you know how number two goes in three weeks. Good luck! Sandy37
The massage that follows all Coolsculpt treatment should be done within the 2 minutes that follows the removal of the applicators. The timing of the massage is very important as it is when the treated fat cells are still crystallized and most vulnerable to further breakage. Early comparative studies have demonstrated that performing a good vigorous massage within this 2 minute window improves the efficacy of Coolsculpting treatment by up to 68%. So, really, it is actually part of the treatment. The recommended proper technique is to do the massage with gloved hands, not with any objects or rollers. It should be strong enough to break the fat cells and is typically somewhat uncomfortable and in some instances can leave superficial bruising but it should not be painful not leave scratches as are shown on your pictures. I hope that your scratches healed well and that your Coolsculpting results were up to your expectations. Sincerely, Caroline Tosoni MD
