Dr. Askren has worked miracles for me. I went from the body image issues I’ve had since high school to finally loving my body. I only went up about one size but it made a world of difference to me. I very highly recommend Dr. Askren and his awesome team!
Best plastic surgeon in the Central Valley, especially for breast implants. During the consultation he is extremely informative, he wants you to know exactly what you are getting yourself into. His staff are down to earth and extremely friendly. I’m about 7 weeks post opp and the girls have finally settled in and they look incredible and natural. They look as If they have been crafted from the GODS. Askren is a surgical genius and I recommend him to everyone looking to do a BA. I’m honestly going to miss seeing him during my check ups.
Hello Ladies! I am jumping on here to leave my experience of my breast augmentation. I went to Dr Askren in Fresno, Ca. I am so happy I chose him. He has over 30 years of experience and has very good bed side manners and made me feel confident in choosing him. I did pay for my consultation here, some places do not charge but because I knew I wanted this particular dr, I didn’t mind. During the consult, he was super informative. I left feeling like I just got out of a class. I came back for my sizing appointment and mind you I had to go alone to all of these because of COVID. It sucked because I didn’t have my fiancé there to give me his input. I originally picked 545cc but went home and thought about it. When I went back for my post op appointment, I went down to 485cc instead as I was afraid the 545 would be too big. I had to get tested for COVID 3 days exactly before my surgery to make sure I was negative to go through with my surgery. The day of surgery went super smooth, I felt nervous and scared going in but I’m glad I went through with the surgery. I’ve had 2 babies and this is something I have been wanting because my self esteem has really been an issue. This is something I wanted for myself. I came out of surgery feeling a bit loopy lol and came straight home and went back to sleep. I wanted to last minute make this review because these really helped for me. Although every single person is different I was hoping to be more like most of the reviews I read and be feeling great after the 1st or 2nd day but today is 3 days post op and I am still feeling a lot of pain. BUT! Please note that it is totally worth it. I am in love with my new breast and they haven’t even settled or anything yet. I will post before and after pics. And I will Ofcorse keep you updated as I know that can be helpful.
Dr. Askren has been awesome since first surgery 10 yrs ago with breast implants. Went to him 6 yrs ago for tummy tuck consult, scheduled surgery but postponed after meeting my now husband. 2 children later I am ready. Got my tummy tuck, replaced saline implants for silicone and got liposuction of iliacs. He is awesome in every way. I am only 8 days post op but I definitely am pleased with results. His staff is also awesome, friendly and professional. I don't see many posts from Fresno, Ca on this site but wanted to help anyone in the area thinking of going to him. Updated on 9 Apr 2016: Finally figuring out how to place pictures on here. Not the best views because of some shadows but you get the point...
He was very friendly and professional. I had a great experience and got exactly what I wanted. I got 400ccs under the muscle. I also got silicone. I am almost 3 years out and I couldn't be happier! I had almost no pain and recovery was not bad like I had expected it to be. I was very impressed that he was triple board certified in plastic surgery also. I cant believe how natural they feel and all my friends are very impressed. I also had pretty lopsided boobs beforehand and now they look really even. I recommend everyone to go to him. Updated on 21 Jan 2016: I also wanted to add my height and weight and that the implants I choose were allergan 400cc silicone round high profile placed under the muscle.
I had talk with 2 doctors in the same facility and I was comfortable with the 2nd Doctor. He explained the whole procedure on the pamphlet and paperwork on the procedure he is up against. I love how he took his time with the explanation and the post surgery recovery. The procedure itself in my situation of a mastopexy is the cut of an anchor o-) that will be of the scar. Wrapped tightly in the garment I woke up to was painful but I was good going home. I had less blood discharge and needed no drainage tube. It was very painful but I kept up on my pain medication within the time frame of the pain medication to wear off. The only thing I did that was extremely painful was the liposuction under my arm pits, the side of my breast. That was very painful I couldn't move my arms much. I had to keep compression on them with a foam under my garment to fulfill my wishes. This took exactly 8 weeks to heal. PROS: perky beast, no excess skin jiggling above my bra, no sagging breast with nipples looking down and boobie sweat! My shoulders don't hurt trying to keep my breast up or no neck pain. I can run again and do the tomboy things I love to do without feeling heavy! I feel light! Can find the perfect bra! CONS: 8 weeks of doing nothing, it's forever when your an active hyper person, shooting pain here and there as to timing, itchiness because of healing to the nipples and scar. Nipples numb for awhile. Slow in bringing back the sensation of the nipples.
I came into contact by chance with Dr. Carl Askren in August, 2014, and it turns out I should have played the lottery that day too! I had a consult with him October 22, 2014 and then the universe aligned to slide me into a cancellation on December 23, 2014. I'm 5'7" and was about 250 when I got pregnant in 2008, and then almost 290 when I went in to give birth. I maxed out at almost 270 for a non-pregnant weight. I started loosing weight in 2012 and dropped almost 100lbs by walking and doing the protein first, no starches/added sugars food plan. I've maintained at 170-175 for a year +. I don't have great skin quality and have lots of stretch marks (arms, thighs, abdomen/trunk/boobs) but my stomach was what bothered me most. I could stand up straight and hold in my abs and still have a little flap hanging over my c-section scar that wasn't going anywhere because all that skin was broken. I looked decent in clothes but wanted to feel decent out of them as well. I had an insurance-paid panniculectomy and paid out of pocket for my belly-button fix which is considered cosmetic. I was amazed they got my insurance to pay for part and will just say THANK YOU! I chose not to have abdominal plication/abdominal stitching and am very pleased with the outcome so far. It's been just over three weeks. I paid about $250 for insurance co-pay and then $3750 for the plastics but I think that will come down because I didn't do the ab plication. I don't have final numbers yet. I'm attaching some pictures. There is a before with horrible posture letting it all "hang out", a morning after surgery, one from one week post op, two from about two weeks post op and the last one is three weeks post op. The last picture looks funny because I'm sitting here in my regular non-stretch jeans with a spanks tank top and it all leaves lines on me. I went in at 6:30 on 12/23 and was heading out to a hotel by about 12:30 pm the same day. I didn't have to have a catheter and was able to go to the bathroom before I left the surgery center. I checked in the next morning and had the drains checked and went home. My drains came out from the ends of the incisions on the sides of my hips. I took the pain meds every four hours for the day of surgery and 12/24. The last pain pill I took was Christmas morning when I got up. I don't like what Vicodin does to my digestive system so I'd rather deal with a little discomfort. My pain was minimal. The most uncomfortable area was high up on my abs where I figured they stopped lifting the skin off the ab wall and started really tugging. The drains and belly button stitches came out six days post-op and he peeled off the steri-strips from the big incision. I checked in at two weeks and when Dr. Askren looked at everything he thought it had been three weeks already! I take that as a sign that I'm healing well. I check in again at 4 weeks and hope to be given the ok to drive and exercise normally except for lifting any weights. There are no stitch marks in my belly button and the incision is somehow sort-of inside. I don't know how he does that but I'm really happy to have my real belly button re-attached and in the right place. I have lots of stretch marks around my hips where my incisions end and am pretty amazed at what he was able to do given the condition my skin was/is in. I no longer have any stretch marks above my belly button and my stomach hasn't been this tight... maybe ever! I would do this again in a heart-beat. It is worth every penny! Updated on 26 Jan 2015: Tomorrow will be five weeks since surgery. My four-week check up went fine and I was given the OK to drive and go back to the office/work. I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy yet but I can walk as much as I want to/can. I am amazed at how well this turned out. My incision is healing beautifully and considering the stretchmarks I have along the incision line, it's amazingly smooth. All I have right now is a very thin red line, no puckering or dog ears - it's just incredible. The incision on my bellybutton is done so well I doubt it'll even be visible once it fades back to skin tone. Somehow he manages to have the incision inside the bellybutton. The man is a wizard, genius or a little of both!
I was a 34A with hopes of a full C. I went with a silicone implant 375 cc's. I am 5'0" 105 lbs. Since my surgery was 2 weeks ago today, there is still some swelling. I think once the swelling goes down, I will be a small C cup. I wish I had gone a little bigger. The first week of pain is worth it!!!
31, no kids, workout a few times a week but I also love King's Hawaiian Rolls! I'm tall, broad shoulders, naturally thinnish, kind of boxy frame with loooong legs, and I've always planned on implants, but life circumstances always got in the way. Finally, I'm solid in my career in special education, 5+ year relationship, and ready to just do it. I was 173 at the end of February, down to 159 as this morning, still have 6-7 more to lose by June 3rd, the date of my surgery. I'm a pretty full B but I want to be a full D. I know my frame can handle it, but I'm nervous because I don't want to go too small but I'm also slightly concerned about going too big. My sizing appt is Friday morning (5/14/2021). Any advice/recommendations/suggestions?Updated on 13 May 2021: I was SO READY for this appointment tomorrow (5/14), however I received a call yesterday that it needed to be rescheduled to Monday afternoon. I know it’s literally THE NEXT business day...but still. With that being said, the surgery coordinator has been in the business for a long time and when I expressed that I’m having some anxiety about sizing, she explained the process (again) and her words and obvious care for her patients reassured me and I’m no longer feel anxious, just excited and READY. Three weeks until my surgery and I’m down to 157! I’d like to lose another 5lbs in that time, which will be more difficult as I have already dropped 15lbs since Feb 27.
Thank You!!! I went in to have a consultation for Breast Augmentation with Dr Askren and had the best consultation ever. Dr. Askren explains everything in great detail and made me feel very comfortable. Also their entire staff is kind and friendly. I highly recommend Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Pavilion Kind Regards, MV, Shaver Lake
It is very important that after your breast augmentation procedure you perform "implant displacement excercises" in order to maintain soft and supple implants. These excercises also help with avoiding capsular contractures.
