Volbella

Blood vessel under each eye was nicked during injections of Volbella.

Although the cheek fillers improved my appearance a great deal, they were uneven. Unfortunately, that benefit was overshadowed by the fact that she "nicked" a small blood vessel under each eye while injecting Volbella. She was chatting with the nurse and gesturing, not keeping her eyes on the instrument. I felt a specific "ouch" moment each time, when the tip of the instrument banged into the boney edge of my eye socket, resulting in long-lasting redness and swelling in that small area, along with a tiny knot under the skin that I could feel with my fingertip. Ultimately, while she did not acknowledge any error and stated that she did not believe the problem was "technique based", she did offer a free IPL treatment on the two areas to help speed healing or resolution of the problem. Unfortunately, once the swelling from the IPL went down, it was evident that the Volbella had hardened into long thin lumps. She agreed to dissolve the lumps that were raising the skin to an uneven appearance, but if the lump was "flush" with surrounding skin, she declined to dissolve the material. This is an extremely short version of the story. There are many more details that I will try to add later.
