Can Botox help my chin? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Botox will make a great difference to your chin. I typically inject 6 units into the mentalis (chin muscle) to improve the appearance of orange-peel chin

Botox nerve damage; is this permanent?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Highly unlikely that this has anything to do with botox. You have sensory symptoms which would not be caused by botox even in large doses. I urge you to go to a board certifiied neurologist, check your B12 level checked and possibly have an MRI of your brain.

I just had juverderm put into my nose only 36 hours ago and have big swollen lump on the side. (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I think its important you go back to the provider who injected your nose so you can be assessed. It looks as though the filler may have displaced laterally. If so, your provider may need to use hyaluronidase to dissolve it.

Is this normal swelling or too much filler? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is most likely to be swelling and bruising, especially if you took aspirin beforehand. Some patients swell much more than others particularly the upper lip. Use as much ice as possible and give it two weeks for the swelling to completely resolve. At that point any adjustments can be done.

Can I get Botox after a non-ablative fraxel treatment and microneedling?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Absolutely fine after your treatment!  I allow this with any of my patients after treatments. I do not allow fillers for at least a week after Fraxel, microneedling, dental cleaning or microdermabrasion to minimize risk of infections.

I have Botox but every time it marks my skin and bruises, what's the best cream for aftercare?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
This is something I rarely see with patients. Are you taking any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications before your treatment (ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil etc). We ask our patients to avoid these OTC meds, and stop their vitamin E, fish oils, ginseng, and red wine for a day before and after treatment.
Has it happened with different injectors or all the same

25 year old female seeking facial fillers to look like a teen again. What's the best filler? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
In my opinion, the most subtle filler to address nasolabial folds and my filler of choice in the 25-35 year old range is Voluma or Perlane in the lateral cheeks. It produces very natural looking results and addresses the early changes of aging. The practice of "filling in lines" should be over. Addressing the golden ratios of facial dimensions and what we perceive as ageing is more important. These agents last for 1.5- 2years, are safe, and hyaluronic fillers are dissolvable with hyaluronidase.

Juvederm used for tear troughs resulted in discoloration/indentations below lower lid. (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
While I love Juvaderm in other facial regions, I do not use it in the tear troughs due to Tyndall effect and swelling. My filler of choice for tear troughs is Restylane. Vobella has just been approved (for use elsewhere) and this is another great option. Hyaluronic acid fillers tend to last for much longer in the tear trough area.
Your filler will be easy to dissolve with hyaluronidase - can take a few treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart. If you liked the effect of the tear trough filler (apart from the discoloration and swelling), you could use Restylane 4 weeks after your last hyaluronidase treatment - hyaluronidase seems to have a continued effect for up to 2 weeks so I would leave at least a month interval so your next filler isn't inadvertently dissolved.
Also, I typically volumize the lateral face with Voluma (which affects lateral tear trough) before filling medially - this will result in less filler being used in the medial tear trough .

A Fabulous Dublin Dermatologist!

Doctor Ryan is an absolutely fabulous dermatologist! She was able to identify exactly the things that were having an aging effect on my appearance and she improved the overall look of my face, but made sure to keep me looking like myself and totally natural.

Awesome Fillers! - Dallas, TX

My lips look amazing and I would not go anywhere else! My face is also clear from the accutane Dr. Ryan had put me on since my acne was so bad. Dr. Ryan also has gotten rid of my forehead wrinkles that were so prominent, but without making it look like I have had work done to my face. Dr. Ryan is the best!

Great Dermatologist! - Dallas, TX

I have been seeing Dr. Ryan for years! From acne to Botox and Fillers! She is AMAZING! I could never trust anyone else with my skin! BEST DERMATOLOGIST HANDS DOWN! She takes the time to explain procedure to me and makes sure that I am well aware of everything that is going on. I love the fact that she goes with the subtle look when injected versus the "she had her lips done" look. No one knew what I had done, I kept getting questions like Have you changed your hair? Is your make-up different? This is the kind of response I want from friends and familly!
