QUESTIONS ANSWERED

A short answer is, will a tooth with a crown function like a tooth without one, yes. This answer supposes that the crown is well made and that the reason for the initial chip/broken tooth was addressed and that their is sufficient tooth structure under the crown so that they can support each other. Make sure to have the conversation with your dentist about why they think your tooth chipped/broke in the first place and has this issue been corrected. If it was due to a singular trauma, then this should be pretty simple. If this is due to non-ideal bite forces during chewing due to tooth position then that is another story and a crown or two is unlikely to fix the problem long term. That doesn't mean things can't be fixed for the long term, it just means that more dental work may need to be done.

Lumineers/Veneers look like they would be the perfect solution for you. You have a beautiful smile that is just not quite symmetrical in regards to tooth size of the laterals. You may want to consider doing veneers on more than just the lateral incisors so that spacing and size can be balanced properly to achieve the symmetry you are looking for. If you were a patient of mine I would recommend at minimum veneers on both laterals and possibly the two centrals as well to redistribute size and spacing to help achieve symmetry.

First of all, from your photos, you have a beautiful smile. Depending on what it is you would like changed or what it is you are unhappy with, there are a couple of options. One option does involve orthodontist the other restorative, like Veneers. A lot depends on what your goals are. If you would like to know more specifically what that would entail from time and cost aspect, I would be happy to go over that with you. I offer free virtual consults through my website. Just click on the button on the upper right of each page and upload these same photos and details of what you would like changed and I will send you a video showing you what is possible and go over details like time frames and cost.

Neither the bonding nor the Invisalign are to blame. The orthodontist is correct in saying that the aligners should not brake the bonding. At the same time the dentist that has done the bonding is not to blame either. Your bite is to blame. That is why the orthodontist and dentist are working together prior to placing crowns. I know this stinks, but the best option is to be patient, let the orthodontist finish and then your dentist can get your crowns put in the correct position to best fit your new bite.

I can not be certain of the status of tooth A in your photos without further examination, however it does not look good for the long term prognosis of tooth A from what is able to be seen.

It appears that the discoloration is due to lost enamel from either a cavity, acid erosion or both. An exam by a dentist is a good idea and a filling or more is likely needed to repair this.

It is not super common to need a crown at 27 but not unheard of. I would really want to know what caused the need for this crown. It is not usually a singular eating event that causes this but a cascade of other smaller events that make the tooth weak enough to break while eating. The breaking of this tooth is probably a symptom of some other underlying issues that would be important to uncover so that this does not become a trend. I hope this helps.

I would recommend starting with a regular cleaning and exam followed by a fluoride treatment. Tooth Sensitivity can have may origins so an exam is a good idea. Sometimes just getting things cleaned and staying up on your at home care can make a huge difference. Depending on the origin of the sensitivity Invisalign may or may not make things worse. It's important to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy prior to starting any type of tooth movement, because if not these conditions could be made worse buy moving ignoring them and moving your teeth.

If your teeth are already more translucent than you would like, Whitening will magnify that.

Whether or not you want bonding or Veneers really depends on how dramatic of a change you want to accomplish.  If you are more or less happy with the existing color of your teeth and just want to make the edges more symmetrical then bonding is a great option.  If on the other hand you would like a more dramatic change in the color of the teeth and want to make sure the the teeth are more symmetrical in there shape and size, then Porcelain Veneers are a better option.

You also mentioned that your teeth are thin.  If they truly are thin you should be evaluated by a dentist to determine why they are thin, so that can be corrected prior to bonding or veneers.  Otherwise whatever you decide will not last.

I would advise you to see a dentist right away if your teeth are becoming mobile.  It could be a sign of chronic trauma due to the way your teeth bite together or an indication of infection.  To know whether or not your teeth can be replaced, the supporting bone needs to be assessed by a dentist.

Efficient, thorough, and all around great experience.

Dr. Brenner and his team were quick to respond to my inquiry for replacing my old, deteriorating dental bridge with an implant. Dr. Brenner has the technology and skills to be able to design the implant and execute it all in his office (one-stop shop!). He was thorough in explaining the whole process to me, and his team was able to turn around and provide me with the estimated cost quickly. I appreciate how flexible his team was in scheduling me in for the multiple appointments, and the ability to break it down into two phases to ensure I can maximize my dental insurance benefits. Fantastic, down-to-earth, cheerful staff. They also take COVID precautions seriously and I am impressed.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Great Experience with Dr. Brenner

Dr. Brenner has done two removal procedures for me - wisdom teeth and removal of a front tooth for an implant. Dr. Brenner and team were great in making sure both procedures were as painless as possible. They took great care in explaining the procedures to me and giving me an implant that I'm super happy with. They were available for questions as I was healing. I'm very happy with my smile and the results. Thank you, Dr. Brenner!

Thank you for giving me a confident smile again! I highly, highly recommend Dr. Brenner and his team!
