I had a FUE treatment in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Dr. Bruno Szyferman, at a center called Capilea Centro de Recuperacion Capilar. The center is located in a quiet, upscale neighborhood of Buenos Aires away from the downtown bustle. This was actually my third hair transplant. In the late 1990s/early 2000s I had two FUSS treatments, also in Buenos Aires, from a center called Hair Recovery. They pretty much butchered me by making two separate incisions at leaving me with huge scars. Before choosing Capilea this time, I made the rounds in Buenos Aires to five different centers. Two of them were the most well-known - Hair Recovery and Medical Hair. These places spend tons of money on advertising and are in the downtown area in highly visible spots. Both of these centers again suggested a FUSS treatment, with more cutting of my scalp!! The other centers I visited all suggested the FUE treatment, and Dr. Bruno was the most convincing. The center is well-appointed with a small waiting area, and has more of a boutique feel than one prepared to handle dozens of patients and consultations. The staff was all very friendly, and Dr. Bruno was very patient with me, going over all of my questions and laying out the pros and cons of the FUE and FUSS treatments. He was also realistic about how many hairs could be transplanted, since I already had the scars from previous treatments. I found this reassuring even if it was disappointing. He wasn't overpromising. The pricing was fairly competitive with other quotes I received but all were extremely reasonable so a few hundred extra here or there wasn't of concern. Most quotes I received were in the $2,500-$3,500 range in US Dollars. The center had staff in contact with me regularly via the Whatsapp application and via Facebook messenger, in the weeks prior to the treatment. There were some tests that needed to be done including an EKG and a blood test. This was all spelled out quite clearly for me. On the day of the treatment, there were several staff members involved. They took a lot of pictures and they had lockers for my belongings. They have a large TV to keep your mind occupied during the 5-6 hours of transplanting. You have to remain absolutely still during the delicate procedure. There were two people simultaneously injecting the follicles in the area marked off by Dr. Bruno at the beginning. Dr. Bruno also did some of the transplanting, especially at the end. In total, I had 1,900 grafts transplanted. A few days later I visited for a follow up and again, I felt that they were unrushed and very willing to answer any/all questions and share information. To this day I follow up with them via text and voice messages and they comment on my progress. All in all extremely satisfied with my experience. I highly recommend Capilea!
