Thank you for the great question. Unfortunately, lower eyelid filler is not for everyone. This is one of the toughest places on the face to inject well and depends greatly on the individual's age and underlying eyelid/cheek anatomy. Based on your photo, I think you would be a great candidate for a lower blepharoplasty. Each surgeon has a personal preference that works best for them and fat repositioning or fat removal with or without fat grafting are both great options. Because you have nice high cheekbones with primarily medial fat pad prominence, I believe a lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning alone could work well for you. Hope you found this helpful! Best of luck!
Thank you for the great question. Overall a surgical browlift result will last roughly 10 years, however, this does depend on the surgical approach, the age of the individual, as well as their underlying facial anatomy. Individuals with thicker/heavier skin and soft tissue can be more susceptible to the effects of gravity leading to a slightly shorter overall result. I hope you found this helpful. Best of luck!
Thank you for these great questions. First of all, you are not alone. Facial rejuvenation surgery is a big commitment, however, done well, it can have a huge impact on your confidence and self-esteem. The first thing I would suggest in selecting a surgeon is finding someone with extensive experience in modern-day facelift surgery (i.e. extended deep plane facelift) as well as a strong understanding of our complex facial anatomy. Facelift techniques have changed over the year and the extended deep plane facelift is a tried and true way to ensure a long-lasting, natural result. By finding a surgeon with this kind of background, the chance of a poor outcome (i.e. unnatural) is significantly reduced but unfortunately not impossible. Traditionally, complications after facelift surgery are exceedingly rare, however, if they were to occur, it would be within the first week. That being said, I agree that it is very important to be close by after surgery so that your surgeon can support you through the early healing process. Generally, after 1-2 weeks, the healing process is on auto-pilot. After surgery, I would say most individuals are presentable for work and social gatherings around 2-3 weeks. Every surgeon has different rules about exercising after surgery, but my philosophy is you can begin slowly getting back to exercising around 3-4 weeks with a goal of being back at your baseline activity level by 4-6 weeks. As far as being free of botox and filler, I recommend a minimum of 3 months. This will allow your botox effects to resolve. When it comes to filler, it's tough to predict how long it will stick around and does depends on the location throughout the face. I hope you found this helpful. Best of luck!
Thank you for this question. Actually, during a deep plane facelift, the skin and superficial fat pads in the cheek and jawline are repositioned back to their original more youthful location. In fact, the facial muscles are left untouched. During surgery, there is a natural, mobile glide plane that separates these fat pads from our underlying facial muscles. After everything has been fully released, these descended fat pads are secured with multiple sutures to create a more refreshed cheek and jawline. Hope you found this helpful. Best of luck!
