I can't say enough for this amazing and caring and extremely competent dental professional. He saved me thousands of dollars with a difficult separation of a tooth from a bridge. He painlessly extracted two infected teeth without pain during or subsequent to the surgery. I am a senior citizen and he is a comforting and patient presence for me. It is almost by luck that I ran across this awesome periodontist and prosthodontist. He ranks among the best professionals I've dealt with in my nearly seven decades on earth. Thank you, Dr. Brandon Katz
When it comes to the crown lengthening procedure the advantages of the laser do include less pain and quicker healing. The disadvantage of having the procedure performed by laser is that if the bone level needs to be altered, visualization of the osseous contours is compromised.
The answer to your follow-up question is YES. A tooth restored with a crown can still undergo supra-eruption without a proper antagonist or properly made retainer/occlusal guard.
