I had a deeply disappointing cosmetic surgery experience with Dr. Bradley Hammond in January 2023. Despite being board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery; Dr. Hammond is not a board certified plastic surgeon. I learned the hard way that this distinction is crucial, as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon specializes in oral surgery, whereas a Plastic Surgeon specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures such as facelifts and rhinoplasty. However, he has opened a fairly large surgery center in Litchfield Park, AZ where he performs a plethora of cosmetic surgeries. I underwent several procedures, including a neck lift, lower facelift, lower blepharoplasty, chemical peel, and Botox injections. Unfortunately, the outcomes were far from satisfactory. I experienced significant complications, including hollowed-out eyes, retraction of my lower lids, severe tightness in my neck, unsightly sagging skin, heavy scarring, and a deformed ear. The chemical peel caused burns and hypopigmentation, and the Botox injections led to severe bruising and asymmetry. Additionally, I woke up during surgery and felt the cutting, and my stitches were left in for 21 days, which is unheard of and was extraordinarily uncomfortable. Multiple board-certified plastic surgeons have confirmed that a full revision is necessary to address my issues. Given the severity of the situation and the constant discomfort I have endured for two years, I am forced to undergo further surgery to repair my eyes and neck. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and to not consider plastic surgery unless it’s with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
