Everyone will experience "shock loss" of the transplanted hairs and sometimes the surrounding hairs. Shock loss is not permanent and is a normal physiological process that occurs due to the procedure. The hairs are "traumatized" in a way and go into a resting phase. Once the healing process is completed and everything is back to normal and there is no inflammation or other stress, your transplanted hairs and the rest of your hairs should start growing as usual. This can take 6 months to a year after the transplant and this is why we can only really judge the result of a transplant after 1 year.

The reason that male pattern baldness occurs is due to DHT. Finasteride blocks DHT and its effects will usually fade after a year of stopping the drug and you will then go back to how your hair would have looked if you never took Finasteride in the first place. If you wish to stop Finasteride for good then I would give yourself a year or 2 after stopping and then assess what Norwood scale you are and how many follicular units you would require to get the desired look. Your donor area can also then be assessed more accurately.

The simple answer is that "it depends"

Has your hairline been receding? If not and your hairline is just naturally high and you would like to bring it forward then you would be a good candidate for a hair transplant. From your pictures, it also seems as you have very good hair and thick donor area. You could get a hair transplant to get the hairline that you desire and then monitor your hair loss to see if you may have to start Finasteride to prevent further hair loss and an unnatural appearance.

I would not recommend a hair transplant in a young patient who is already experiencing male pattern hair loss and a receding hairline or thinning hair who is not willing to take finasteride as the future cosmetic appearance would not be desirable as all the hair at the top may fall out and only the DHT immune transplanted hairs in the front would remain. This will end up with an unnatural look later on in life.

If your hairline is just genetically high and it is not because of hair loss the I would say go for it. How we feel about ourselves and our physical appearance matters more when we are young and I feel that if it is something that really bothers you then you should do something about it sooner rather than later. The technology is out there and you should take advantage of this.

It is not necessary to protect hairs forever although it is recommended to protect your new hair for at least a month after your transplant as sunburn and intense sun exposure is not good or the skin and hairs while you are healing.

The normal process of a hair transplant is that these hairs will fall out after about 3-4 weeks but the follicle inside will still remain. After about 6 months to a year you will see the full results of your transplant. These hairs, if taken from the back of your scalp or DHT immune areas should not fall out ever due to hormone exposure.

The people that have lost hair are probably experiencing ongoing hair loss. Not losing their transplanted hairs

There is no home remedy on the market that has proven to work and cause hair growth over a scar. Scar tissue is essentially fibrous tissue and this usually does not have much blood supply, any hair that use to grow in that area would have most likely died. The only natural solution would be to have a small eyebrow transplant and transplant a few hairs over the scar tissue to restore your eyebrows to what they looked like previously.
