Additionally you should consider a monthly chemical peel regimen to help with the overall texture and discoloration. I agree with Dr. Rueckl's answer below. You are at risk of some acne scarring at this point. You should schedule another appointment with your derm. If you are really concerned about the side-effects of Accutane then make sure to discuss them at your appointment. Your derm may be able to offer you additional combinations of treatment other than Accutane. Since you mentioned that the condition has progressed, you should try to see your derm sooner rather than later.
