I scheduled my surgery immediately after my first consultation with Dr. Markowitz.
During the virtual consultation, he was thoughtful, observant, patient, and a careful listener. He agreed with part of what I wanted to do, said “no” or “not yet” to a few other things and provided clear explanations for his answers. In my pre-surgical office visit, he was the same. His passion and high expectations for his work shines through. He is a perfectionist and demands the same of his team.
It takes a superior leader to build an outstanding team - exactly what Dr. Markowitz has done. The team is composed of high caliber & dedicated professionals who take pride in the outcome of their work and truly care about the patient. When I made a positive comment to any individual, each one said, “Well, it’s not me – we have a good team.”
Dr. M’s surgical coordinator/office manager, Antonia Davis, was helpful, kind, organized and fun. She returned phone calls promptly and worked diligently to assist in my pre-travel planning (I live out-of-state). Catherine Rogers, nursing manager/operating room nurse, was calm, happy, and always had everything under control. Dr. Mark Rothman, the anesthesiologist, called the evening prior to surgery to answer any questions. He was upbeat and ready to get started that morning, which gave me confidence.
Lynn Carter (Dr. Markowitz’s aftercare nurse) is thoughtful, compassionate, really on top of her game, and has a great sense of humor. Additionally, she provided detailed video instructions for my post-op home care to my care givers and was available 24/7 to answer questions and deal with concerns.
I am delighted with the surgical outcome and I strongly recommend Dr. Markowitz. He insists on follow-up visits after surgery - I have never known a surgeon to remove stitches. His work is amazing – I look better, rested, and not pulled. There is no question where I will go for any future procedures.
