Doctor Berkan Arik is not just an intelligent, educated, & caring surgeon, he is an artist with the most skilled & perfect hands!!!! I followed him for a heart before booking! I waited a little while to write my review because I wanted to see how my healing went, but I can confidently say I 110% recommend Dr. Berkan Arik!! I had my surgery almost 2 months ago and am so pleased with my results. I am a working mom of 2 little kids and I am so grateful I did this for myself after giving so much of me to my family and my work. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend to just pull the trigger and book your rhinoplasty. The actual surgery was painless, so easy and so comfortable, I took a nice nap no issues waking up or anything!! I loved flying to beautiful Turkey and having a vacation out of it! It was something I wanted to do for over 20 years and was going to do it 7 years ago with a different surgeon, but made the mistake of telling family who all talked me out of it! Do it for YOU and don’t tell anyone judgmental, only tell supportive people. You won’t regret it! I am actually in tears writing all of this because I am just so happy I followed through with it and did something for myself.
Some tips:
-only tell supportive people
-fly nonstop if you can on Turkish air (we flew from DFW, USA)
-the concierge is very helpful and will have all medication & aftercare no need to bring your own
-stay at the grand majesty hotel bc it’s next to the hospital (walking distance), a mall, & a good restaurant
-bring puree or Apple sauce snacks to the hospital, I got hungry in the middle of the night after the surgery and they only had muffins which was harder to eat
-bring your own straws, there’s no plastic straws in Europe any more
-write down positive affirmations and read them before your surgery and morning of too
-bring pajamas and comfy clothes
-stay atleast 2-3 nights in Istanbul!!!!! We only stayed 1 night and regretted it, there’s a lot to do there and see like designer shopping at the grand bazaar, mosques so much! Bursa is a little quieter, but good for resting!
-The surgery aftermath is like having a flu for 3 days, I felt better day 3. If you’re a mom and have had a baby, this is nothing. Once the casts are removed expect to feel strange for 1-2 weeks with the swelling and adjusting to your new nose! Trust the process and know the swelling is temporary!!
