I finally decided to take the journey to a straight pretty smile. It's really the only thing left that I'm self conscious about. I've had what I consider a terrible smile pretty much all my life, hiding behind my hands or giving the small smile when meeting someone. Anyway, I was elated to find out I was a candidate for Invisalign. I have been given my set of 36 trays, which I will wear 22 hours per day and change every 4 days. I also chose to use Acceledent every day for 20 minutes. I also have to wear rubber bands 4 hours per day to correct jaw alignment. I had to get one tooth extracted, the upper left #4 (from center) to make room so my teeth can shift to the left. Tonight I switch to tray #2. So far so good. The top tray hurts for a few minutes when I first put them in, but over all, fairly comfortable. I think I will try wax on the edges because my tongue rubs a little. I looked at the last tray in my kit... It shows straight uppers and lowers. And I'm so excited that the results are only 5 months away. We will see if any adjustments will be needed at that point. But even if they are, I would be happy with what I see. Updated on 17 Sep 2018: Everything's going pretty good. I was about 11 trays away from completing the first set when I was given a revision. I have a really stubborn tooth or two. I'm now on tray 18 of my revision. The hardest part is wearing the trays for 22 hours a day, especially if I'm going it to eat or going to karaoke. Haha. "S" sounds terrible when singing with trays in. Small inconvenience. I'm still very happy with the progress. Just wanted to add some new pics.
