Dr. Thorburn completed her undergraduate degree in Physiology/Neurobiology at the University of Maryland and continued to complete her Doctor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. She started her General Surgery Residency at Wright State University and finished her Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was the Chief Resident in the year of 2018-2019.
In addition to her skills in plastic surgery, Dr. Thorburn has published numerous Journal Publications. Dr. Thorburn enjoys teaching and has presented multiple presentations at regional and national meetings on both surgical and non-surgical topics. She is also an active AOA Honor Medical Society member, which is an honor society in the field of medicine.
