I have hated the way my lady bits looked since I was a teenager. This has always affected my confidence in intimate situations and sometimes made sex painful. I was also very self conscious in a bathing suit or yoga pants. I only really heard of labiaplasty as an option about 5 years ago and when I mentioned it to a couple of my best friends, they thought I was nuts! I started reading reviews of the procedure online and it was both encouraging and terrifying! I read some horror stories of people being disfigured, having horrible chronic pain or losing sensation in the clitoral area. But then there were many women who were really happy with the results and wondered why they hadn't done it sooner! I went to see 4 different surgeons before deciding on booking my surgery with Dr. Swift. I have had other things done (injections and liposuction) but I have to say that I have never been as nervous about anything as I was for this surgery. He did the surgery under local anesthesia and gave me a little sedative to help me relax. I didn't feel a thing and it was over in no time. For me, the recover wasn't bad at all - I didn't have really bad swelling or pain and it didn't burn when I peed. Other than Tylenol on the first day I didn't take any pain medication. I even went bowling with my nephews 3 days later (although I would not recommend that. In hindsight, I could have split a stitch and that would have caused significant bleeding!) They tell you not to look at it too much and I understand why - it looked like I sat on a meat grinder! It looked way worse than it felt and I started to worry that I made a bad decision. But then I remembered all of the reviews that I read that said that the swelling can cause it to look uneven and to be patient for the result. I had to wear a pad for the first 2 weeks because I constantly had small amounts of blood and then I got my period and since you can't use tampons for 6 weeks, it was a real pain in the butt! But I made it through it all...baby wipes (natural ones with no alcohol!) were a must in keeping the area clean. The stitches started to slowly melt and it did get a little itchy while it was healing - I would gently pat it with baby wipes to stop the itch. I think I finally felt "normal" after about 5 weeks. Now my skin is back to normal - no more hard edges along the incision line. I can't really explain it, but I feel so free. My underwear and yoga pants are so much more comfortable - I just feel lighter. I don't have to worry about tucking bits in anymore and I actually have increased stimulation now :) It was a fantastic decision for me - I couldn't be happier. So, if you are thinking of doing this procedure, here are my suggestions: 1) Pick your surgeon wisely. Don't go for the cheapest or the best sales pitch. Go with the surgeon that you feel in your gut understands your concerns and cares more about his patients than he does about trying to sell you things you don't need. 2) Be very open about what you are trying to achieve and have realistic expectations about the outcome. 3) Clearly establish how much will be taken off. In my case, we didn't really discuss it and he took off more than I expected, which caught me off-guard at first. I have gotten used to it now and I am happy with the way it looks and feels, but I read many reviews of people that were unhappy with how much was cut off..so have the conversation before it's too late! 4) Take at least 5-7 days off work. Although I didn't have any pain, the swelling made it uncomfortable to sit for too long. Since I work in an office, this would have been torture! 5) Be patient for the results because during the healing process, it will look worse before it gets better - and that's normal! For anyone following my path - good luck to you!
Thank you docteur Swift to fix my puffiness close to my eyes. I'm so happy I met you. This doctor is very qualify and know what he's doing. I work in medical field and I can see this. He's awesome. I recommand him.
I wanted breast augmentation since I had my son at age 22. I finally made the decision to have implants and I'm so pleased. It is initially uncomfortable post surgery but well worth it. I chose Dr Swift in Montreal, Quebec as he was recommended by my cousin and I could not be happier. I highly recommend Dr Swift for any procedure as he is highly competent and professional. His staff is polite and generous as well.
I'm so impressed with what Dr. Swift did. I had horrible top heavy pointy down looking breasts, and now I have full perky movie star (but natural looking) breasts. I honestly don't regret it at all. Looking at old pictures of myself I can't believe the change. I've recommended him to everyone I know, and a few of my girlfriends who I showed them to have actually told me I have perfect breasts now, and a few have sworn to go and get theirs own done with him in the future! Definite recommendation. And his facilities are really classy, you feel like a princess there.
My left breast implant had gotten hard and needed to be replaced.I met with Dr.Swift a few times before surgery, discussing options. He and his whole team always made me feel so comfortable. Surgery went very well, the clinic is very welcoming, not like a hospital atmosphere. You are treated very nice. They really take great care of their patients. My nurse Nancy took wonderful care of me in recovery.I was also given emergency numbers if needed.(never needed) Today I am 4 days post surgery and feeling great.I would say my total experience was a 10/10. Updated on 1 Dec 2014: 11 days after surgery feeling fantastic.Back to working out slowly.Listen to your body.Healing nicely, with really great results.Very happy...... Thanks again Dr.Arthur Swift fantastic job.
I had Restylane put in my tear troughs. I had always had deep tear troughs and thought this would be a simple way to have a beauty pick-me up. As soon as the doctor put it in, i was amazed at the immediate improvement and decrease in the baggy look around my eyes. So I asked him to add a little more, near the side of my nose. He put it at the top of the bone under my eye socket instead, directly under my pupil. I thought "well, that's not exactly what I had in mind, but it's just temporary'. I went home with the little ice pack they had provided and was told swelling should go down soon. Instead, the swelling got a lot worse and lasted more than three days. It looked like I had an allergic reaction or bee stings under my eyes, which then looked a lot baggier. When the swelling went down, the skin had been stretched so much, it left permanent wrinkles. When I much later was in some pictures, I noticed that the Restylaned area was like a raised track which caught the light, so that it looked like I had something under my skin- but only in pictures and only with a flash. Also, the treated area appeard yellowish. I thought these effects would disappear over time, but they didn't. The yellow is still there 4 years later, as are the raised tracks, which are probably now from some kind of scarring caused by the product. It is not noticeable when I wear my glasses and mostly is just visible on film with side lighting. It's not the end of the world, but I don't like it. On the positive side, the product damaged a small vein so that it no longer is visible. This is just as well, in my opinion, because that vein added to the baggy look. Amazingly, there is still something in there, probably scarring as I said, which can be pushed around. If I press on the area, it leaves a visible dent. I thought this may have all been the unfortunate result of putting the product in a tricky area and decided to go back and add some to my cheeks and lips. I thought surely, this would be harmless. The nurse gave the injections, not the doctor. The product in my cheeks looked very nice while it lasted (about 6 months) but left slight permanent discoloration (slight darkening where it was injected). The product in my upper lip caused a lot of swelling. It seems to have been involved in damaging a nerve. Following the treatment, my top lip completely and permanently changed shape and the inner part of the lip dropped down so as to become visible when I smile. I later learned that this is a rare 'facial deformity' called 'double lip' caused by a blow to the lip or an infection. Either way, it is the result of nerve damage so I speculate that the swelling damaged a nerve. It is a rare condition, but can be corrected surgically, although I don't think that I would be up for more interventions after this experience. My upper lip looks a little dropped and like it has lost its tone. I find it has completely changed the look of my lips and the overall effect of my face in general. My top lip was thin but nicely shaped before. It now looks a little bigger in the middle due to this, but slack and older. There's not much I can do about it, it's permanent. I asked my doctor about it and he had never heard of 'double lip' and denied that Restylane could have caused it, since it is not listed as a possible side effect. I think it is too much of a coincidence that this happened the day I got the injection, to attribute it to anything else. Despite this, my lips looked pretty good and plump for about 6 months while the product was in. Cheeks looked very nice, but the staining scared me off doing it again. Eyes actually would probably have looked pretty good in if he had only put it in the tear troughs, right near the nose. Where he put it lower, the skin was too thin and showed discoloration and raised tracks form scarring. Bottom line is, there are apparently more risks from this than one would think. I know many women who have had it had no problem, but think long and hard before you do it because you might just be someone who ends up having rotten luck. Updated on 2 Oct 2012: October 2012, 6 1/2 years since I had Restylane under my eyes and the stuff is still there, like raised tracks under my skin. 4 years since I had Restylane put in my lips and the upper lip is still deformed from it. Nothing has changed. Plus, I now have a mustache.
To fix a slight curve.
I had 2 procedures done by this doctor, and my results were disastrous to say the least.. I tried multiple times to have him fix what he did but not only did he refuse to do anything, he pretended like there was nothing wrong, even after 6 other doctors (including one HE referred me to) said there was problems caused by what he did. After years of living with his botched work, I finally had reconstructive surgery and, to quote the surgeon who performed the surgery, "It was a mess in there! I can't believe he didn't take responsibility for this". Dr. Swift has no ethics, he is nice and friendly, but if anything goes wrong, don't expect him to help. My advice: Stay away...
Please don't go to him for a rhinoplasty procedure. He botched my nose and it has ruined my life ever since. He thinks he knows what he's doing but trust me he doesn't. He shouldn't be doing the procedure on anybody. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra money to go to a specialist, it would be worth it.
I had my nose done by Dr. swift when I was 23. He completely destroyed my nose. I have had 2 revision rhinoplastys since and both doctors said it was the worst work they've ever seen. He was so rough during my surgery that I swelled up like a ballon for weeks. I finally found a doctor that could fix the damage he did but I wish I had never stepped into his office. Avoid at all costs!!!!
