Fraxel Rough Bumps Better. Skin Better! - New York

I had my Fraxel Restore 3 weeks ago in NYC...Dual wavelength for discoloring and wrinkles. Full face and neck. My skin is med fair with sun damage, freckles and some wrinkling. I am almost 50 years. Heres how it went... The numbing cream was helpful, but I would also take something stronger if I do it again. It was pretty painful!!! My face hurt that night and was swollen for the next 2-3 days. I was told to use vaseline over a moist face. It felt like a very strong sunburn. By day 3 it was very rough with brown dots that were starting to flake off. I decided to go to my Hot yoga to help the exfoliating process. It helped a bit, my face was smooth where the brown had flaked off. Then I made a mistake and started using my normal anti aging face products. My face started to show tiny whitish bumps...not whiteheads and not pimples. They were rough, slightly raised and my pores were looking larger and my face was red and irritated. I freaked out (especially after reading negative responses here!) I spoke to my Dr 3x over the next two days and made an appointment to see him as soon as a could break free from work. I told him about this website so he could see the comments for himself to see what he thought. He said he would read them and not to panic. He and his wife are both very respected dermatologists (her practice is in Chappaqua) He said over the phone, sounds like it got irretated and use nothing other than vaseline and sunblock on naked skin, makeup on top of that. During the next 2-5 days the redness and roughness has gotten much better. No more red, bumps and rough skin 80% better. I saw him 3 days ago and he said it looks a bit dry still, keep up the Vaseline or olive oil. We talked a long time about all of the negative results on this website and how worried I was that I would have bad results. He said he and his wife have been doing Fraxel for a while with no negative results. He has done Fraxel on his wife and her friends. He said it takes a few months for full results, healing and collogen growth. I am only 3 weeks out, but so far I am very pleased with what I see. My skin coloring is great. My neck is a little less saggy. My skin looks smooth, but still rougher to the touch than before. I will definitely keep posting to keep you informed! One more thing....I did one Ulthera treatment last year and LOVED it. Huge tightening of my face. Would definitely recommend that, although it was also very painful during the procedure.
