QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Can I have a frenectomy after my braces treatment? I used to have diastema and now the gap is closed but not that tight.

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Dear hzlnt,
Thank you for your question. I completely understand your concern. Without examining you personally, I cannot provide clinical advice. Generally in cases like these a retainer will be provided once your braces are removed. If you are concerned about the frenectomy and your diastema, those questions are better suited for the doctor whom is currently treating you. He/she most certainly has a plan to ensure the success of your treatment. Please bring your concerns to his/her attention. Your orthodontist is there to help!

I have a cross bite. Do I need braces? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Braces or Rapid Palatal Expanders(RPEs) can be used to correct crossbites . In case the patient has excessive underlying skeletal deformity, orthodontists need to work with oral surgeons or plastic surgeons in order to fix the problem.

In order to be properly diagnosed please schedule an appointment with your dentist.
