I met with Dr. Anthony Weikel a few months ago concerning a flap of skin under my neck (from another face lift and another doctor). Dr Weikel was very compassionate and understanding. He and my husband and I had a lengthy conversation about the surgery and everything else under the sun. He explained that the flap under my chin needed a special procedure and went through all the details with both of us. We scheduled the procedure. If only I could have gone to him the first time! He played music and sang to me all through the surgery. I cannot reccomend this doctor enough!! You don't find doctors as fine as him anymore. He is skilled, caring, and what more can I say? If you are considering any surgery, go to this doctor! Oh, by the way, he did a great job. I am now confident in how I look. I am 101% happy.
The world is not the same place it was when my mother was my age. This type of procedure was not an option for her. With all the surgical advances, like Lifestyle lift, we are able to take advantage of this affordable procedure. There are so many things I want to do, so much of life I still want to live. Now I feel confident that I can continue to be a part of it and continue to be productive. The surgery has given me a gift of years. Before I would look in the mirror and I felt old because I looked old. Now I look refreshed, revitalized, without that plastic, tight look. Recently, I went for an interview for an important position and I was hired. I know I have the education and experience for the job, but the facial smile I wore helped tremendously. I knew that if I wanted to get the best results, I must do my part and follow through with the after care. I really healed much faster than I thought possible. Yes, it was worth it. I'm glad I made the decision to get a LifeStyle Lift. For the short recovery time, I now have years to enjoy it.
My sister and I decided to look into the Lifestyle Lift after seeing it advertised on TV. We are both in our 60's with the usual "turkey neck" issues. I went for it, my sister did not. It was rush, rush, rush in order to receive the "special going on just now." Without really knowing what was involved, even after trying to get answers out of the consultant, I had the basic lift. It did not come out well. When I went for my "glam shots" the doctor asked me if I was satisfied. I said, "Not really." Then he said, "we can fix that." This involved another procedure to remove the extra skin pockets. He tried but now I have an added "z" shaped scar under my chin, it shows, and I can live with that, but it's still bumpy. I regret having it done on an out-patient basis. If I had it to do over, I'd get a plastic surgeon who wasn't in a hurry and go into a hospital where I wouldn't feel anything or have nightmares for months afterwards. My opinion is they keep you in the dark about what the actual procedure entails - freezing with Novocain, I can't even count how many shots! Then cutting in the front and the back of your ears, then pulling, pulling, pulling. My doctor removed the muscle under my chin, which he said I didn't need, although the other surgeons do a corset stitch. If he hadn't removed that muscle, I probably would not have the bumps and pockets in that area. But it's done. If I knew it was going to come out like this, I would not have done it. If you are considering having a Lifestyle Lift, my suggestion would be to skip it and go see a plastic surgeon who can devote his whole attention to you for the short time you'll be there. It will cost a little more but if it comes out nice, it would be worth it.
My experience with Life Style Life was very positive. From the first appointment to the follow-up final pictures, I was treated with professionalism and kindness. Dr. Weikel is some Doctor. He is skilled, honest and full of fun. (He sang to me during the procedure). Cris, the assistant, was also great. I called him after the lift and he answered my questions and showed concern for me. I have returned to the Burlington office to see the staff and Doctor. Each time, have been treated like family. This procedure was needed by me. It has helped me to look like I feel. Thanks Updated on 7 Mar 2014: The procedure went well. Was given mild sedative pre-op, which kept me awake but very calm. Dr. Weikel cut a slit in the lower part of my chin and crossed the cords, then he cut each side of my face and took 2 inches of sagging skin from each side. I had the refraction laser treatment as well. It was a bit uncomfortable but, not painful. Next he wrapped my head in a bandage and I was on my way home. The next day I returned to the office and bandage was removed. Other than a little swelling I looked good already. My only pain was from the stiches, as I am a quick healer and the needed to come earlier than suggested. This surgery was a piece of cake, for me. Having had bi-lateral mastectomies 20 years ago was where I felt pain. Even that was tolerable. I cannot take any pain medicine as am highly sensitive to them all. A positive attitude and lots of "grit" get me through every time. Thanks and love to Dr. Weikel and the whole staff at Lifestyle Lifts, Boston. Updated on 7 Mar 2014: Updated on 7 Mar 2014: These are pictures from a modeling shoot. These were done April 2013. The heavy make-up shows more lines and wrinkles than usually show. However, I am 72 and look darn good!! Updated on 7 Mar 2014: These photos are from a modeling comp card shoot. They were done 2 months post-op. The heavy make-up for the photography makes my face look more wrinkled than it usually looks. However, I am 72 years old and feel and look great! Updated on 10 Mar 2014: Feeling great, going to see Dr. Weiss at the Boston Life Style Lift Office this week. Like going to visit and share my results with this team. It has been 1 year since my surgery and am still happy with results. Would like fever wrinkles but, I will be 73 in May.
My Lifestyle Experience: I Had a Lift Facial and Neck Firming Procedure with Some Fat Injected Under the Eye Area. My experience is only good. Dr. Anthony Weikel did a great job. I'm going to be 67 this May and I have been told that I look 15 to 20 years younger, I believe I look about 50. None of my features have changed I just look like I did years ago. I even look good without any makeup. I took pictures before and after and it's fun to show to people I choose to share the experience with.
Awesome Surgeon - Burlington, MA
That is exactly what the Lifestyle Lift is. It is an investment in yourself, in your future. I had this procedure done because I didn't want to be self conscious any longer. I recommend it to anyone. The best part is I no longer worry about 'camera angles' and I feel that how I look now is a true reflection of how I feel. I had lost apx 100 lbs over the last 2 years and had a lot of extra skin on my neck. It was the only thing I saw when I looked in the mirror. I did a lot of research on the best way to get rid of it and kept seeing the Lifestyle Lift commercials...so I called and got the brochure. I believe it has changed my life. I'm no longer a slave to how I 'think' people perceive me...because if that was the first thing I saw when I looked at myself...it must be the first thing they see...regardless if it was true or not, I believed it to be so. My personal outcome is that after having the Lifestyle Lift done, I no longer have to think about that extra skin. I am a work in progress...but now it's one less thing I have to work on. Some people who know I had this done (and most don't...they think I've been having extra visits at the spa to look this refreshed because it's that natural) ask me how I can justify the cost...my answer? How can I not? Do it...you won't regret it!
Quick notes... Stuff that worked for me... * Bought an incline pillow to help sleep in elevated position. Good investment. Supports lower back. Ordered from JC Penney or get one at Bed, Bath & Beyond. * Drank EAS shakes (you can buy a four pack at Walmart for $5). Low calories (110), lots of protein, vitamins, etc. Goes down nice with straw on the first day. Good nutrition. I plan on living on these for the next week. Along with soup, coffee and anything else I can get in my face with minimal chewing :). * Write down when you take your meds. Doctor gave me prednisone, anti-biotics and pain-killers, though he recommend I use the extra-strength Tylenol first and then use the heavy duty ones for any big pains. Updated on 12 Jun 2009: Surgery completed on June 10th in Newton MA. Had procedure to remove waddle (hanging skin from neck) and jowls. Assisting nurse said I was a stellar patient. Went to sleep and didn't wake up until they woke me. Procedure was done at clinic. Checked in at 8:15am, out the door by 2pm. First night was uneventful. Woke up at 2:30 am with moderate pain, took pain meds, back to sleep and comfortable all night. Bandages came off today. Very happy with results. Minimal bruising. Stitches look good, as well as any stitches can. Some pain and tightening (good thing). Updated on 12 Jun 2009: Updated on 13 Feb 2011: Nearly 2 years later, loose neck skin (left over from procedure) is still an issue. Will look into getting it corrected by different doctor.
