Fantastic, thorough and thoughtful surgeon. Dr. J. is up to date with the latest procedures and carries only the most effective products. She takes all the time needed to explain any procedures you are considering and will suggest where she thinks you will see the most improvement. I couldn't be happier with the procedure she did on my eyes, I only wish I had done it sooner!
I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Jayaram and highly recommend her to anyone looking for blepharoplasty. Her expertise in these surgeries is obvious, and she further stood out among my other options by offering a thoughtful and supportive experience. She made me comfortable with every step of the process and I honestly can't imagine any way she could have made it more seamless. Thank you!
I was treated for my upper eyelids and couldn't be happier! The procedure was quick and painless. I was able to drive myself home after. I would highly recommend Dr. Jayaram. She is also an excellent Botox injector!
I can’t imagine a better patient experience or a better surgical outcome. Dr. Jayaram is truly talented and I can’t recommend her highly enough. I’m 37 and I’ve known since my early 20s that I’m genetically predisposed to early eyelid sagging and loose crepey skin. I started looking for an ocular surgeon about 7 years before cosmetic surgery was appropriate because I wanted to be ready when the time came. After years of fruitless searching in the Bay Area, I thought that I’d eventually have to travel to LA to see the right surgeon. Then I found Dr. Jayaram and I’m so glad I did! The surgery was easy, and Dr. Jayaram’s confidence soothed any nerves I had as did her calming bedside manner. Recovery was relatively painless, and went by quickly. The results are what make everything worth it.
I first contacted Dr. Jayaram a little over a year ago, trying to figure out what would be possible for my volume loss that I experienced as a result of chronic health conditions. I'm 31 and have struggled with various autoimmune issues throughout the years. I also sought her out specifically out of a lot of the Bay Area PS and injectors because she states that she has a more conservative approach. She was incredibly kind and answered all of my questions, and confirmed that she can make use of one syringe of filler in the whole face rather than just one area -- something I was looking for as I'd seen a really well-respected derm in Australia, who has a YouTube channel, speaking about as being the best approach with filler. It took me a year to finally book in with her, mainly because I wanted to get my inflammation down before trying anything out (and also because of my nervousness!). My main issues were wrinkles in my forehead and volume loss in my tear trough area. I'd never had Botox or filler before and was pretty nervous. She was very thorough in explaining the process to me and making sure I felt comfortable. We decided to go for the Botox first, and then reconnect for the filler down the line. Her approach with Botox seemed pretty methodical, and she books a second follow-up appointment for touch-ups, which I found helpful to target some of the asymmetries in my forehead. I was so nervous after getting Botox for the first time, but it was really not too bad! Certainly not painful, though I did get a headache after. It took about 2-7 days for the results to fully kick in (my glabella was after 2 days). The results were also pretty damn amazing, natural-looking and not frozen. I also had the awesome effect of having a major reduction in my migraines. After a couple of months, I finally went in to try out filler, Restylane. Dr. Jayaram had actually pointed out a couple of other areas in my face during the previous consultation that could use a boost or to correct asymmetries, but she explained that again, her approach is very conservative. She actually steered me away from a couple of other areas that I thought needed some volume, and I felt I could really trust her aesthetic vision. She ended up injecting my tear troughs, the downturned corners of my lips (marionette lines), and one side of my lip to correct an asymmetry. Even after all of that, some filler was still left over for a future appointment! And despite how nervous I was, the injections themselves were so easy and not painful at all. I only bruised in the marionette area, which wasn't too bad since I can wear a mask. The swelling in my lip and tear trough went away within about a day, but my marionette area is still a little swollen. Icing definitely helps, so I highly recommend that. I can already see that the results are incredibly natural and I look like I just got more rest, which is amazing. I'm so happy I found Dr. Jayaram, I finally feel like I undid some of the havoc chronic illness wreaked on my face and I'm happy I look more like myself, more vibrant and rested. I can't explain how much this boosted my self esteem and made me feel like I could just get on with my life, and not worry about how much my face had changed and aged. I feel like she's the perfect provider for someone who might be nervous, hasn't tried anything before, and just wants to look like themselves but better, if that makes sense. I know others have also sought her out because she fixes filler mishaps, which makes me feel all the more confident in her abilities. My only regret is not doing it sooner!
Dr. Jayaram is a warm, caring physician. She has treated me with respect and intelligence. Most importantly her approach to decisions about your care is collaborative. She communicates concisely the likely cause of the condition you have, and the options for treatment. She doesn’t dither about her recommendations but will offer you the choices and with respect and kindness guide you to select the course of treatment. Ann is a delightful human being.
Dr. Jayaram is friendly, informative, easy to understand, and very thorough when explaining both the options and risks associated with each procedure. She's very patient and understanding when it comes to anxiety, so if you have any, just let her know and she'll work with you to find a way to make you comfortable. I've gotten fillers under the eyes and at the corners of the mouth, baby botox in the forehead and between the brows, and upper-eyelid surgery from her. I've been extremely pleased with the results from all of them. She takes care to keep all enhancements natural-looking. If I ever had any concerns, she always took them seriously and discussed them with me. I would highly recommend her practice.

Thanks for reaching out, great question! It appears that you would be a good candidate for a VERY CONSERVATIVE upper lid blepharoplasty to reduce the fold or excess skin on your upper lid. The good news is that this is a 20 minute in-office procedure with relatively little down time! I recommend getting evaluated by an eyelid trained plastic surgeon to hear more about this. Hope that helps!
Many patients suffer from dry eye at baseline, and certainly having eyelid surgery to open the eyes more and expose more eye surface to the air makes the symptoms of dry eye worse. First and most importantly, I'd make sure that your eyes can close completely, even on gentle closure. You can do this by either ensuring that your eyes are completely closed during sleep, or asking your eyelid specialist to assess this. If you can close all the way, then getting started on a lubricating regimen consisting of scheduled artificial tear drops four times per day and a lubricating ointment at bedtime can help tremendously. Finally, if still persisting, I recommend trying sleeping in moisture chamber goggles to ensure no night time dryness. Hope this helps!
Thanks for reaching out. I would venture to guess that you had an external lower lid blepharoplasty with skin and orbicularis muscle excision? If this is the case, a slight retraction of the lower eyelids can occur if a bit too much skin is excised. I would recommend discussing your concern with a trained eyelid plastic surgeon as sometimes this can be corrected with a lid re-positioning procedure or perhaps a small graft. Hope this helps!
Thanks for reaching out, great question! While swelling does play a role, I'd recommend reassessing for yourself if you feel the asymmetry is coming from the upper or the lower eyelids. Because your left lower eyelid is lower than your right, it may be giving the illusion of "asymmetric eyes" in general, when really this has not too much to do with your upper eyelid. Your eyelid plastic surgeon can help you in making this determination! Hope this helps!
Thanks for reaching out, great question! It looks as if you do in fact have redundant upper eyelid skin, in some photos actually appearing to touch the lashes. Because the amount of skin removed is very controlled by the surgeon, you are essentially "ready" for one as soon as the appearance of the eyelids bother you. I would recommend going to an eyelid trained plastic surgeon and having a discussion about a natural result. It appears that at least 10 mm of skin could be removed from both of your upper lids while maintaining a very natural, non-hollow look. Hope that helps!
