I went to see Dr Joshi for a septorhinoplasty due to a deviated and perforated septum as well as a broken nose. Dr Joshi made me aware that the surgery would be very complicated but from start to finish made me feel comfortable and confident i was in the best hands. From the first time i met Dr Joshi he was very reassuring, put me at ease and talked me through the whole procedure. Any pre-op and post op queries Dr Joshi was very easy to get in touch with and responded to my concerns immediately. I would recommend him highly as he has done a brilliant job restoring my nose and breathing and making me look good!
I had a Septorhinoplasy with Mr Joshi a month ago now and I am very satisfied with the result. Not only can I breathe well now but Mr Joshi has also boosted my confidence. He was very attentive and listened to all of my concerns. Thank you so much Mr Joshi.
Mr. Joshi performed a very successful septorhinoplasty on me and was nothing but professional and helpful throughout the process. He is very reassuring, and was very transparent as to how the process would happen which was quite comforting to understand. I would definitely recommend Mr. Joshi, as it's been less than a week since the surgery and I have no cast, my nose is not in pain and I'd hardly believe that the operation even happened except that I can now breathe incredibly well. Thank you again Mr. Joshi!
I had a septorhinoplasty with Mr Joshi in December last year and for my first ever experience with surgery it couldn’t have gone smoother. I’m ecstatic with the results and have a considerable improvement with my breathing. After suffering years of damage when I was younger I always noticed breathlessness when exercising but since healing it’s been massively improved. I’m incredibly thankful for Mr Joshi’s expertise and care and the level of time and detail he took to explain everything to me and make the whole process seamless. I received incredible post operative care and felt completely assured with my decisions.
I had a Septorhinoplasty surgery performed by Mr Joshi four weeks ago to fix a severely deviated septum amongst other structural issues. The outcome has been fantastic, my breathing is so much better and I can now breathe out of both nostrils opposed to only one previously. I also love the aesthetic outcome too, my nose looks better than it did before whilst still looking natural. My recovery after surgery was also very smooth, I had very minimal bruising and swelling. Mr Joshi made me feel listened to and cared for throughout the process and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I recently underwent a Septo-Rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Joshi at Blackheath Hospital, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Dr. Joshi showed an exceptional level of professionalism throughout the entire process. From the initial consultation to the post-operative care, he was thorough, knowledgeable, and incredibly skilled. He explained the procedure in detail and ensured I was fully informed, addressing all my questions—even the ones that seemed silly—with patience and clarity. Dr. Joshi's caring nature truly stood out. He was approachable and friendly, making me feel at ease from the very beginning. On the day of the surgery, his confidence and calm attitude were incredibly reassuring. His positive energy was contagious, and it helped alleviate any pre-surgery nerves I had. The team at Blackheath Hospital, especially the anesthetist, were outstanding. Their professionalism and kindness made the entire experience smooth and comfortable. They were attentive to my needs and went above and beyond to ensure I felt good before, during, and after the procedure. The surgery went very well. I am extremely happy with the results, both in terms of improved breathing and the cosmetic changes to my nose. Dr. Joshi's expertise is evident in the natural appearance of my nose, to the point where it’s impossible to tell it was operated on. For those considering this surgery, I highly recommend diligently following the post-operative care instructions. Regular cleaning and rinsing of the nose are crucial for a successful recovery. When I had my endoscopy, my nose looked fantastic with no signs of operation. Stick to the prescribed protocol, including antibiotics, and don’t be alarmed if your nose looks different after the cast removal—it will settle down in time. Well done, Dr. Joshi! Your skill, compassion, and professionalism made this journey a positive and successful one. Thank you to the entire team at Blackheath Hospital for providing such excellent care.
Dear Apple Girl, Thanks for the question. We do not routinely ask the patients to tape their noses post-rhinoplasty. Post-Surgical inflammatory oedema settles over time. In some cases of thick skin we tend to use the tapes, more so in the supra-tip region. In routine cases I haven't seen any significant differences in using them regularly. Kind Regards
Six weeks post-rhinoplasty is too early. There will be some residual swelling (post-surgical oedema) this takes months and in some cases up to a year to settle down. Kindly consult your surgeon a few months down the line to examine your nose in detail (both external and anterior rhinoscopy) to assess the strength of your nasal valves. For now, watchful waiting is indicated. Best wishes
Superior or the upper parts of the lower lateral cartilages are trimmed in this technique. This is typically performed in wide / bulbous noses / boxy tips and also the improve the definition and rotation of the nasal tip. These are carefully performed procedures. Too little resection may not give much improvement. Too much resection however can weaken the tip and can also cause collapse. Symmetry at the end of it has to be paramount. These are challenging techniques so do discuss them with an experienced and board certified facial plastic surgeon. Best Wishes
Thank you Lamb and Lion for sharing your concerns. Post surgery, residual swelling can last for months and up to a year in some cases. However, with experience we will know what the nose will look once oedema and inflammation subsides. For subtle changes however, we will have to wait for nature to take its course. To answer the specific question on short and upturned nose, we need to know what the pre-operative structure of both your external nose and septum was and how much of these were modified or resected. You should also have to find out if they performed any tip modifying work with resection or suture techniques or a combination of these. Kindly consult your surgeon on those steps. Kind Regards
