I normally dread going to the dentist-- but just moved to the area & found Dr. Tibbitts-- calmed all my fears! I got zoom whitening & invisalign, and I'm very happy with my experience. Dr. Tibbitts is an artist of his trade, he offered a bed-side manner with lots of humor and honestly the best at what he does. He is a sommelier of cosmetic dentistry!! His staff was friendly and they were on-time with the appointment, and bonus--the office was comfortable & inviting. I'm definitely going back for more!

I’ve been told since I was in my 30’s that I would lose all my teeth. Although my teeth are yellow , I was a smoker but quit almost 2 years ago my teeth don’t look so bad. I am seeing more gaps over the years. I had a fear of going to the dentist and would sometimes avoid going for a long time. I’ve had many deep cleanings and some bone grafts. I finally found a dentist and hygienist that I love going to. If it wasn’t for them I probably would not be having this done. I was going to shop around for the implants but knew I would feel more comfortable at somewhere I wasn’t just a number. My biggest fear in all of this is having to have all my teeth pulled. The stigma that I feel over having no teeth is what has held me back. I’ve been reading and watching you tube videos and am feeling better. The only thing my dentist didn’t discuss was that I wouldn’t be able to eat so many things after having my temps. I’ll need to call him as my surgery is on the 10th. Updated on 9 Dec 2018: Tomorrow is my surgery. I’ve been reading and watching videos. I feel ready but still nervous. I have a few questions to ask the dentist so I’ll be calling him first thing in the morning . I have to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled along with my other teeth and I’m more worried that I’ll have more pain from those . Updated on 11 Dec 2018: I had my implants in yesterday. I took the Halcion and once I got there I don’t remember much. I remember leaving and going home but after that I just slept. I would wake up and do the ice packs but I still look like a chipmunk. I have had no pain just soreness and have only taken 2 of the Motrin 800. Since my mouth is swollen I don’t know how my teeth really look. I can only open my mouth a little bit. I have an appointment to see my doctor tomorrow. I will update after Updated on 15 Dec 2018: So today is day six and I’m feeling 90% better. My swelling is almost all gone and I just have a little bruising underneath my chin. I’m still eating soft foods mostly. Today is the first day I haven’t taken any Motrin and it’s halfway through the day. The teeth are starting to feel more normal in my mouth. I’m going to see the doctor on Wednesday for my one week follow up. My temporary teeth have a few spots that I’m not happy with but I guess I’ll live with until I get my permanent. I will post some pictures later today. You will be able to see that my upper teeth don’t look straight. I believe on the fourth or fifth day I was feeling kind a down. I guess that’s to be expected after having all the medication in my system from the surgery. But today I’m feeling grateful and thankful that I was able to have this surgery done. I went to have my haircut this morning. It was the first time I have been out of the house. I was sitting in my car because it was going be a 40 minute wait and one of the local homeless people approached my car and asked me for a couple dollars. He had lots of missing teeth and his mouth was not in good shape at all. It made me feel a little more blessed and sad at the the time .Funny because I usually never have change on me and I was able to give them a few dollars. Updated on 17 Dec 2018: So I posted yesterday that on Saturday I had a pretty good day . Right after I wrote that I ended up having to take some Motrin because I was having little soreness in my mouth. I was watching my grandson that evening and I ended up staying up late watching something on Netflix so I was up really late and hadn’t gotten a lot of sleep. When I woke up in the morning which was Sunday I felt nauseous and I felt like I was having some chest pain it was in the middle of my chest so it was more like probably indigestion. But because of the lack of sleep and being on the anabiotic‘s and the Motrin I think it was just a combination that then I started feeling very anxious and like I was having a panic attack. I don’t really like to take medications and I do tend to get a little bit of upset stomach. I rested for a while and I decided I was going to not take any more Motrin unless I absolutely needed to . I try not to read the labels on the medications but I ended up reading the one on the Norco and I know I would never take one , it would just scare me too much and even Motrin can be not safe to take but at what I was taking was 800 mg period. So I had a bottle of 200 mg Motrin and I decided to just take half of what I was taken so I took 400 . I had actually laid in my bed most the day watching HGTV and had that soreness it’s more like a vice grip in your mouth for probably four hours before I did eventually take them . So when I got up in the morning I had an episode of vertigo which I’ve had a couple times since the surgery. I’ll talk to my doctor about it on Wednesday. This one was probably The worst one. The whole room did like 180° turn. But after I got up this morning I wasn’t having any pain at all. My husband and I have some errands to run so we went out for the day and have lunch. I ordered soup and a fish taco. I was able to smash the fish taco up to eat it. So I’m eating a few more things other than really soft food. I can’t take a bite of something with my mouth yet I don’t want to cause any damage to my teeth yet. It was interesting because I was like well how am I going to wash my teeth while I’m out . So I got a little cup of water and I just switch the water around in my mouth and then swallow it and that was good until I got home. So later this afternoon I was having a little bit of soreness in my mouth and I decided before it got bad I would take the 400 mg of Motrin. And everything seems to be fine. I hope that people going through this have some support system because without my husband I don’t know how I could do this. He’s been really great. Almost sometimes too good to where I just want him to you know like if I get dizzy or something and then he kind a like why do you think you’re dizzy asking me all these questions that I just rather lay down and make it go away so but that’s how hes always been . I don’t know if I said in my last update but I do have some numbness. it’s not totally numb, but it’s tingling on my bottom lip and my chin. I read about it and I guess it can be from nerve damage maybe from when they did the injection.it should get better in the next couple weeks to months. Something else I’ll ask my doctor about. I’ve had a couple the stitches come out you know just where they’re tied because there are dissolvable but some parts of them . My gums are feeling really good though tonight so I’m happy and hope I am not jinxing myself.
