At 37 years of age, I have been experiencing hair fall and thinning for the last five years. Now, only 4 months after my surgery, I have regained my lost confidence. It is still early after my surgical hair restoration surgery at Advanced Hair Clinics, and I am excited with how much more hair I will grow. I rate could not rate less than 5 stars for high professionalism, medical expertise, pre and post consultation and of course the spectacular results. Thanks again to Dr. Anastasios Vekris and his team at Advanced Hair Clinics for the amazing experience and support. Mathew Bennett
Hello, My name is Ahmed, I am from Pakistan and I live in Athens, Greece. On March 2013 I underwent a hair transplant session at Dr Vekris clinic. I was transplanted 5120 hairs total. You can see my result at the photos i posted. The session was done in one day from the morning till afternoon. It was painless procedure, quite relaxing at the chair. Dr Vekris is a very pleasant guy, I cannot say anything negative about him. I returned the two days after the procedure to check on me and wash my head. I had no pain, the staff was very kind to me, truly great people.
It is the second time I have received the professional services of Dr Vekris, always for hair transplant surgery. I have only extremely positive words for the treatment received and professional work done by Dr Vekris. The two interventions were very successful and the results were even better than the expectations! Dr. Vekris is one of the best in this area and even his colleagues, once they have seen his work on me, agree and congratulate his professional and artistic work. Additionally, the clinic is very modern, comfortable and impeccable cleaned and well organized. And finally but not less, all Dr Vekris staff make you feel at home offering you the most warming and professional treatment and attention.
It's been a few years since I visited the clinic. Since day one I knew something went wrong : the donor area was harvested unevenly (square shape) and the grafts were implanted to deep in the skin and going in the wrong direction (lot of them go 70 to 90° perpendicular from the skin and because they have been implanted too deep I have pitted scars so impossible to shave anymore).. Since I mentioned it to the clinic and they say it will go away. The technician that did the procedure was clearly not ready to undergo the operation... it looks like I was a training case for her without any supervision. I have photos and I will show to anybody who think I'm lying that I'm saying the truth. I tried to contact Dr Vekris after a year post op he said he will be here to help me in case of problems, I felt better at this moment but since few weeks I decided to contact the clinic to see if a small correction could be made to help me to swallow the pills as I cannot anymore cut my hair short (obvious over harvested spots on the donor area and pitted scars on the recipient area) BUT it looks like they decided to block my email address ! How can you call a professional hair service that ignore customer when something goes wrong ? Now I'm left alone with this depressing patch that I will keep forever in my head and instead of helping me they decide to ignore their mistakes. Great.
I am now 49, but at 46 I decided after trying most of the proven hairloss treatments, Minoxidil, laser comb, sadly they had little or no effect. I heard to many scare stories about the finistride pill and see a awful interview with a guy that has lost his libido for life. I decided to take the plunge and go for a FUE transplant. I did tons of research, and could not find a reputable surgeon, in the UK, with realistic prices for your average person. I went to a local hair transplant consultant, and he recommended a few surgeons. Dr Ali Emre Karadeniz was one. And Dr Vekris in Greece was more highly recommended. So in 2016 I had another FUE 2 day session, compared with Turkey, the accommodation was not so good, but good enough. However the clinic, was very professional, with plenty of professional staff that made you feel at ease. The doctors team worked tirelessly on my head for two full days, about 10-12 hours at a time, with breaks of course. They said they managed about 4000 plus grafts. The after care advice was great, but no follow ups at all, once I got back to the uk. The result is good, the hairline looks a little to perfect, in some lighting, and my hair coverage is still thin, but a vast improvement to what it was. The crown is still very sparse. On both occasions, I only used minoxidill, to enhance the transplant, not the finasteride pill. I now take neither. But may try the new Trinov lotion. My conclusion, is considering all the research I did, the outcome is only a average improvement, but vastly better than it was. I certainly would not recommend going to either of these surgeons, nor my consultant. The before and after photos you see online and on their websites, are of course their best patients. And in conjunction with finasteride. Updated on 18 May 2019: So I recently went to a top London clinic to get advise on one more procedure, and after examining my transplants, they noticed with a digital magnification camera that their are doubles/triples and even quadruples at the front of my hairline. Even I know that only singles go in the hair line, so this is why it looks to perfect and fake. They said they can remove them and put them further back to soften the hairline. Plus take 800 grafts from my beard. I am very dissapointed in the Advance hair clinic Greece.
Hair transplantation is nowadays a solution also for female hair loss as there are many cases of women requiring density or lowering the hairline. The FUE technique is the only suggested restoration technique due to its minimally invasive character and for the natural results achieved without scarring or pain (effects of FUT). Apart from the transplantation extra care should be taken for the preservation of the existing hair through the regular use of minoxidil and PRP (monthly).
The hairline area is really important to look dense and natural. In order to achieve these two objectives the hairline design must be implemented really carefully and according to specific measurements. Density must also be achieved through maximum extraction of grafts that would surpass 2000. More thorough examination is required, though.
The PRP is considered to be one of the most important conservative treatments for the preservation of the existing hair. It is actually recommended the day of the session and afterwords under monthly protocol for the following three months. It is repeated after six months. Studies support it.
Sudden hair loss happens non only in older men, it may also concern younger ones. There are many explanations for this problem. Hereditary hair loss seems to be more prevalent than ever before. A lot of other causes such as lifestyle and environmental factors may also contribute to an earlier onset of hair loss. So I would advise you to check your nutritional and lifestyle habits before you ask for treatment.
There is no proper age for anyone to have his hair restoration procedure. This decision is made according to one's needs, psychological situation and expectations. What is normally suggested is that until the age of 30s we experience gradual hair loss and rapid change of the image. Therefore a young person should know that in case of a hair restoration procedure performed in a young age he may need to repeat the session shortly in the future. In case the individual is not suffering from this change of his image we would propose conservative treatments until the age of 30s to standardise the hair loss.
