The dark/hollow appearance under the eyes can be for various reasons- hereditary, effect of light, loss of volume under skin etc. Good skincare, sun protection is always helpful.Fillers are always a good option as they are far less invasive as compared to surgical procedure. I advice my patients to avoid strenuous activity and avoid applying makeup for 6 hours. I explain that strenuous physical activity or massage to face can cause displacement of the injected Botox leading to unwanted results and applying makeup can have risks of infection.
The areas of face commonly injected are glabellar area (11), forehead and crow's feet. Botox can also be used for jaw area to help the area look slim, to improve gummy smiles and for softening upper lip area wrinkles.
I advice patients not to do strenuous activity but light exercise is safe. I also ask them not to wear makeup on the same day. I have found that many carry on with their usual day to day activity without any problems.
