No More Baggy Eyes! - Chicago, IL

So I've had bags under my eyes for years. The reason I went to the doctor. He's an Ocuplastic Surgeon is because of the lazy I that I have. It was bothering me some and I believed that it was messing with my vision. Needless to say that I was correct. Because my upper lids are affecting my vision my insurance company is paying for the upper eyelid lift which my doctor said will corerct the laziness of my eye. But he also mentioned the heavy undereye bags and said to get the best results that I should get both. Lord know that the underye bags are more bothersome to me than the lazy eye. So I am so excited not to have to pay for the upperlid sugery. I am so psyched that I will look more youthful and I read and researched that when you are looking to get your eyes done to look to an ocuplastic surgeon as they specialize in the eys. Dr. Putterman has done amazing work with children who have disfigurement and people with the wandering eyes so I know he will do great with my eyes. So in 25 days and counting I will be going under the knife. Im scared but excited at the same time. I know it can take up to a year to see full results but anything is better than what I see staring back at me when I look in the mirror. Hopefully next year I will be getting my tummy tuck and brazilian butt lift. One procedure at a time. I'm dealing with a lot in my life as far as health wise so I figure if I have to be disabled for the rest of my life I may as well look good in the meanwhile. I refuse to be disabled physically and look like crap! I know that sounds vain but if you guys know what I go through on a daily basis you would root for me. SO ROOT FOR ME ANYWAY!! #TEAM NO MORE BAGGY EYES! :) Updated on 30 Mar 2013: Counting down..three more days to go...I'm scared..hope i don't bruise too much Updated on 30 Mar 2013: So my doctor had me start Arnica Montana 5 days before surgery 15c 5 of anesthesiathem under the tongue 3 times a day..I've started but scared about being under anesthesia Updated on 31 Mar 2013: I'm scared..any tips on minimizing bruising? One more day and its Updated on 6 Apr 2013: As of today i am not a fan of this surgery..if i could go back and not do it. I wouldn't go through with it..Its not worth it..i guess when you are vain God had a way of teaching you a lesson. My lesson has been learned. I don't care about having bags anymore...I would not recommend this surgery to anyone. EVER!!! Its just not with the pain and downtime..my eyes stay tired and sore..all i can do is sleep..Writing this review is pain..watching Tv..any type of lights on my eyes are horrible...I'M LITERALLY PISSED Updated on 6 Apr 2013: VERY REGRETFUL AND SAD :( nothing to do with the doctor though..he is great..i just wish i never did out..no matter how Good i look..i don't like the recovery Updated on 7 Apr 2013: Feeling much better today!!! Eyes still tired and sore and swollen but not as much irritation..pictures coming soon as i can get on my laptop..although maybe i should wait until you can see an improvement Updated on 8 Apr 2013: Went to the doctor today and they measured, poked and prodded...Doc says I'm still very swollen so he prescribed me prednisone..same thing he tried to give me right out of surgery but i didn't want it because i thought it would make me fat...well six days later my face still swollen so I'm going to take it for 5 days only...two.more weeks and i can wear my contacts again...so hate my glasses..i think my eyes are starting to open up just a little..Hopefully in another week I will be okay. :) Updated on 12 Apr 2013: :) Updated on 12 Apr 2013: Let me try this again for the third time....grrrrr The first 4 days were pure hell... by day 5 my eyes weren't as irritated. Had a post op appoinmtnent on day 6 and was presribed prednisone...On Thursday morning I was awaken to pain in my left eye feeling like there was a small pebble insided of my eye...I tried pm rephresh and regular rephresh and antibiotic ointment to no avail. I was up for three hours until finally the valium I took kicked in. Was back in the docs office on Thursday afternoon for evaluation where I was told that what I was experiencing was the sutures/stitches dissolving and breaking down. The doc put a bandage contact in my left eye so that while suture heals I have no irritation as contact in is...in the meanwhile I was prescribed another antibiotic ointment to put in said left eye and I go back to the doctor next Thursday. POSITIVES: The swelling has went down a lot since Monday and bags are less noticeable...however they have been replaced by dark circles under my eyes. I never had these prior to the surgery. Upon further research I found that what I'm experiencing is just bruising. I went and brought me some Scar Zone Bruise Cream from Walgreens which has Arnica Montana and Vitamin K which is supposed to break down the blood vessels and make the dark circles and swelling go away...the undereye healing is much faster than the upper eyelids...why I don't know but Im glad Im not irritated and hope nothing else comes up. I can't wait to see my eyes open up from the upper eyelid lift. Updated on 13 Apr 2013: The staff is awesome!! The Surgicenter nurses even called me after i got home to check on me. My doctor called me same day to see how I was doing. Any issues were immediately addressed.. Love the staff!!!.:) Updated on 14 Apr 2013: My left eye is more swollen than the right eye...WTH??? I look weird Updated on 19 Apr 2013: LookingBetterAnd BetterEachDay Updated on 24 Apr 2013: I Am Really Feeling My New Eyes Everyone...ITs Been Three Weeks ..OnE Eye Is Bigger Than TheOther..At Least It Looks Like It To Me...I Know I Have To Heal But Let Me Know What Yal Think.Looks A Lil Cockeyed To Me Though Updated on 9 May 2013: I look great...5 weeks out

Terrible life changing experience

My experience with dr Putterman has left me with irreparable damage to my eyelids and visible and painful scarring. My lids are uneven after cosmetic blepharoplasty. My biggest regret is trusting him and wish I never met him. He never told me all the risks and minimized my questions and concerns.

Office Review: HORRIBLE!! Person I spoke with was awful, not knowledgable and rude!

OFFICE REVIEW- FIRST IMPRESSION IS EVERYTHING! I would never want to go to an unpleasant environment where people are soo rude. I called to inquire about ptosis repair and asked some general questions and the receptionist who is the same person as billing person, had no clue about basic procedures options and was not helpful at all. She kept asking if I wanted to make an appointment or not and told her that I was not going to pay a consultation fee of $175 when I was not inquiring and/or wanted to be seen for cosmetic surgery. She said that would depend on after I saw the doctor and that is what they do there and then just hung up on me after I told her I wasnt going in for a cosmetic consultation. Bed side manner was horrible and unprofessional. I would never recommend going to this office (unless you know you are going in for cosmetic consultation) as they could easily tell you that your problem is not cosmetic but medical (and you would not know this until after your visit). NOTE- I was going for a second opinion as my issue was already diagnosed as medical not cosmetic (one by the eye doctor who referred me to the specialist I saw. The specialist did several tests and confirmed it was not cosmetic as it effected my vision etc). It's unfortunate, the receptionist/billing person( she is probably the office mgr as well) caused me not to be able to see and/or consider this surgeon for any type of service ever.
