Your concern is understandable. Most widely used method of general anesthesia involves placement of endotracheal tube through the mouth. Dental injuries occasionally occur with this type of general anesthesia. My advise is that you discuss your situation with anesthesiologist. One possible strategy in the injury prevention is use of the soft mouthguard over the upper teeth.
