I've always hated my nose from being a child and have finally plucked up the courage to have it sorted! I had a large hump on my nose which made the tip look more droopy than it was. Surgeon has removed bump, refined and lifted the tip too. Can't wait to get my cast off and see it properly but I love it already! Updated on 10 Jun 2016: So my surgery was scheduled for 2pm at the Methley Park Hospital. I hadn't eaten anything all day so I was beginning to get really hungry before the procedure. I couldn't decide if I was nervous or excited, I don't think it had actually sunk in that I was going to have the procedure that day to be honest!! Around an hour before my surgery Mr Phipps came in and went through what he planned to do. I wanted to double check and stress exactly what I wanted. I was concerned that Mr Phipps wouldn't take enough of the tip away so I felt like I needed to stress that I did want a lots of the bulk taking away. The anaesthetist also came in and chatted to me and put my mind at rest over the general anaesthetic. My surgery was delayed slightly but a nurse came to my room to collect me at around quarter to 4 and I walked down to theatre in my hospital gown and dressing gown. I went into a small room next to theatre with a lovely nurse who took my blood pressure and temperature and generally made me comfy on a bed. The anaesthetist that I had met earlier came in and went through exactly what drugs he was planning to give me. He put a cannula in my hand and gave me some pre-meds. These made me feel like I'd had a few drinks and relaxed me a bit. After that the anaesthetist said he was going to give me some "happy drugs", the nurse started telling me a joke and the next thing I knew I was waking up with a nurse peering over me and a splint over my face. Coming round from the anaesthetic was hard, I felt like I just wanted to sleep but knew the nurse was sat looking at me! I finally came round properly and the nurse asked how I was feeling, told me everything had gone well and then wheeled me back to my room. I had absolutely no pain when I came round. I just felt a bit drowsy. The nurses kept popping in and both Mr Phipps and the anaesthetist came in to see me and told me everything went really well. The nurses brought me some food, a chicken sandwich and some ice cream. I wasn't really hungry even though I hadn't eaten for ages but I had a bit of sandwich and ice cream and felt much better after. The nurses kept popping in all evening checking on me and bringing me more pain killers. I didn't feel any pain at all to be honest, the cannula in my hand was more painful than my nose!! Surprisingly I could also breathe through my nose too! I fell asleep at around half 12 for an hour or so but then kept waking up just due to the noise of the other patients but I did drift off again at some point as the nurse woke me up at 6 for my painkillers and to take my bloodpressure. Updated on 11 Jun 2016: Sorry my reviews are all written on the wrong days, I keep meaning to sit down and write them but end up getting distracted! So I left the hospital at 10 o'clock the day after surgery. The nurse came in and gave me some painkillers to take home, paracetamol and codine and I was discharged. I have the same splint on that I had before and whilst it's annoying it's not painful. My face is still not swollen and I'm starting to wonder if the surgeon has actually done anything as I have no pain or swelling!!! I'm joking, he definitely has as its half the size with a splint on!!! :) So I went home and put my feet up and so far so good! My nose is a tiny bit bloody in my nostrils but nothing bad at all and I can still breathe fine too. I did freak out a little bit as my nostrils look really uneven but when I lift my splint up a little bit they are even so panic over!! I've added a pic to show. Will keep you all updated! Updated on 11 Jun 2016: So I woke up this morning, (Thursday) a couple of days after my surgery on Tuesday and my face has swollen like mad!! My eyes are swollen and my cheeks are huge! I wouldn't recognise myself in the street I look so different! Still no pain and I can't decide if I have bruising or just bags under my eyes!! Starting to loose a bit of swelling around the tip too. Sleeping absolutely fine and just annoyed that I have a splint on and can't see the full result!! Patience never has been my strongest trait!! Ha Updated on 12 Jun 2016: So today we went out for a family meal. I've been dreading it as I knew I'd have my cast on and wasn't sure what it'd look like with my make up on too. I'm pleasantly surprised though and it was really easy to do my make up around my cast. Most of my swelling has now settled too so I'm almost back to normal, still a big puffy in my cheeks and eyes but I think only I would notice it now. 110% worth it though already, just praying I like the rest of my nose when my cast comes off on Tuesday!! ???????? My nostrils still look wonkey but I'm positive it's my splint as if I lift it up off my nostrils they seem even. Still don't have the feeling in my upper lip back properly so my smile is very odd too! Updated on 14 Jun 2016: So I've just been for my cast removing. The nurse just undid the plasters and it came right off. My nose is soooo swollen but you can definitely see the shape it will be when it calms down! From the side it's almost perfect just a bit swollen around the tip so it looks a bit rounded! I love it though already, Mr Phipps is an artist!!
