QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Should I get braces with my chip tooth or bond them first then braces? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

It is generally better to get your braces first  and then do the bonding once the teeth are aligned. This allows the dentist doing the bonding to do them in their final position to make them look the best possible. If done before, sometimes they won't look right once the teeth are moved.

Hope it helps!

Can braces fix buck teeth and gum? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

First of all, great pictures!

Braces can definitely fix buck teeth and gums. Gums wrap around teeth and follow them around, so by bringing your teeth back, your gums will come back with them. You will most likely need some teeth taken out in the back to be able to move your front teeth back. Treatment should take around 2 years.

Hope it helps

Can I get a retainer to fix miner problems with my teeth years after braces where removed?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi,

You will probably need some kind of treatment if you want to move your teeth. Retainers are only made to hold teeth in their current position. It doesn't have to be braces, you may be able to get Invisalign to do this, but will probably need something other than a retainer.

Hope it helps!

Will braces close gaps top and bottom molar? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

Braces can most likely close a gap. Even if the gap is big, it can be closed, it just may take a little longer, but it can be closed. I have done this successfully with many patients.

How many months/years can you expect this gap to be closed? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

It should take around a year to close that gap. You can use Invisalign for this. Regarding the space between your top and bottom teeth it depends on how large it is. If it's not too large it can be closed with Invisalign or braces. If it's very large, sometimes the braces or Invisalign treatment can be combined with a surgical treatment to bring your front teeth closer to each other.

Hope it helps!

How much would it cost to fix my overbite? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

Cost of braces or Invisalign to fix your overbite will vary depending on the treatment modality you choose and the provider you choose. I would highly recommend choosing an orthodontist, since they are specialists in correcting teeth position and bites.

The price is very variable. In our practice, it should be somewhere between $4,000-$5,000, depending on a complete examination of your case and the treatment you prefer. It should take between 1.5-2 yrs.

Hope it helps!

Does Invisilign after 40 have any risks of loose teeth?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

Invisalign should not cause any loose teeth, regardless of age. In fact, there is no age limit for orthodontic treatment. I currently have patients in their 70s in treatment with great results and no side effects.

There are 2 considerations with adults.

The first one is that they should have healthy supporting bone and gums. This is usually accomplished by undergoing an examination by a periodontist (gums and bone specialist) prior to orthodontic treatment.

The second is the careful planning of where teeth will be moved to, since even in people with healthy bone and gums, this can cause problems if not done correctly.

You should not have any problems if you see an orthodontist for your Invisalign treatment and they make sure your teeth, gums, and bones are all healthy before treatment is begun.

Hope it helps!

Braces for crooked teeth at 19. (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

Awesome photos!

It's definitely not too late for braces. In fact, over 30% of our patients are adults that either get clear braces or Invisalign.

You have some crowding of your teeth and a definitive yes or no is hard to give regarding the extractions, but it's likely that you won't need any extractions based on what I see from the pictures.

Treatment with Invisalign or clear braces would most likely take between 18-24 months in your case.

Hope it helps!

Can Braces fix this problem? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi!

First of all, great pictures, makes it much easier to give you a good opinion!

From what I see, the excess gum showing when you smile is caused by the fact that your upper jaw has grown downwards more than it should have. The ideal solution to this would be to have jaw surgery to move your upper jaw upwards and that way show the correct amount of teeth and gums when smiling. I'm not sure about the nursing questions, probably your doctor or oral surgeon can answer that more thoroughly.

There are other treatments that are sometimes used for people that show too much of their gums. One is reshaping your gums higher, making your teeth longer and that way showing less gums. This would not be a good option since your teeth already seem close to their ideal lenght. Another treatment I've seen is using botox or something like that to prevent your upper lip from moving up too much during smile. Both these treatments are not ideal and would most likely not give you the solution you're looking for.

Regarding braces, they cannot move all teeth up into the jaw, and the results would not be satisfactory.

Hope it helps!

I got my braces 2 years ago in Kazakhstan and I'm going to move to USA soon. Can I finished my braces treatment in USA?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Hi Juliana,

You can definitely finish your treatment in the US.

I would recommend that you obtain a copy of all the pictures, x-rays, and treatment notes from your orthodontist in Kazakhstan before moving so that your new orthodontist may have all the information possible to continue your treatment in the best way possible.

Hope it helps!
