Just from you pictures, it appears that  you may not have a great "bite". Veneers are great, crowns or 3/4 crowns are better, but it really depends on how much tooth you have, how thin is your enamel, are there any underlying issues (need xrays and better photos). My suggestion is to have a cosmetic dental consult with an experienced dentist, have xrays and photos and as you are going to invest money, pay for a "wax up" to determine how much room is there. The crowns will provide a much stronger situation, as if you are grinding  your teeth, you may break or knock off a veneer. 

Great question, with the amount of space between your 2 front teeth, veneers may not be the answer as you dont want 2 "large" teeth that do not look as they belong. Before you invest time and money, ask your dentist to first do a "wax up" with the lab that would make the crowns/veneers to see how much room will be used, what they will look like, will the spaces be closed and will the crowns be stable

We usually recommend whitening 98% of the time prior to replacing and/or getting veneers...BUT..you have to do the proper whitening technique. The one thing you dont want to do is whiten your teeth, get the veneers completed and then the whitening didnt last. You need do look at different bleaching systems. We highly recommend the KOR Whitening (KOR 2). At our practice this costs $899, and you start with custom bleaching trays for the first 2-3 weeks and then a week off and then you come for a 2 hour in office bleaching treatment. This is called "power bleaching" and is really the proper way to bleach your teeth. If you properly bleach your teeth, it should last a long time only requiring a touch up with the trays once a year. 

We have done many "Hollywood" smiles with and without extracting teeth, so its possible..BUT much more info is needed to really determine the options. To start, a full set of xrays need to be taken, upper and lower impressions have to be taken, poured up and then mounted with your existing bite to really determine how much room you have or need to make that smile. We just finished a case upper and lower creating that Hollywood Smile, the upper required no extractions, but did require 3  root canals, the lower required 3 extractions of severely damaged/decayed teeth and at the end the patient was so happy, at 60 years old, told us she hasnt smiled since her wedding day. This case cost the patient $45,000.00 and was completed over a 6 month period. So...anything is possible!

I have placed hundreds if not thousands of veneers.....we have a rule as our experience shows that the day (and days) after veneers get placed patients always feel that they are too large.  You need to give yourself some time to let all settle and then in a few weeks I highly recommend you visit your dentist for a follow up. We will always get our patients back the next day, then a few days, and then again in a few weeks to make sure all is good..just be patient
