At a bare minimum, a filling for the hole from a general dentist (more treatment may be necessary) and a consultation with an orthodontist.
A denture supported/retained by multiple dental implants is a common option for superior retention of the denture in the mouth. However, using only 1 dental implant for this purpose is contra-indicated. I would ask your dentist WHY he/she wants the implant removed. Alternatively, perhaps you are a candidate for additional implants. I recommend getting an in-person 2nd opinion.
I also would recommend Orthodontics in addressing your concerns. Dental implants are used to replace a missing tooth (or teeth) where a large enough space exists to place a crown onto the implant. A common scenario would be: A tooth is removed due to decay, fracture, etc. and the empty space remains. Think of a dental implant as an artificial tooth root, onto which a dental crown is placed; thus, replacing a tooth that was lost.
