I'm 48 years old and have had a double chin my whole life, regardless of my overall body weight. I've always hated taking pictures for this reason, so when Kybella came out, it immediately got my attention. I've been considering it for the last year and finally decided to give it a try. I regularly have facials and have had some IPL at a medispa near my home, so I was more than comfortable having the procedure done there. I have to say the procedure itself was a breeze. I was a little concerned about the number of injections required, and reviews that spoke of an extreme burning sensation. I only felt about 3 of the injections after receiving a topical anesthetic and icing beforehand. The 3 that I did feel were barely a pinch. I did experience a very slight warm sensation, but nothing near a burning feeling. About an hour after the procedure, I was noticeably swollen, and the area was hard to the touch, which I expected. Everything I had read was that I'd experience even greater swelling the next day. I didn't. It was a bit reduced, and though still slightly tender, there was no bruising and or much of any discomfort whatsoever. I'm on my third day post-procedure, and there is only slight sensitivity. The swelling seems to be gone for the most part, (no hard lump under my chin) and minimal tenderness. I'm not sure what the foretells for my results. I was told that the greater the swelling, the more drastic the end result. I'm kind of scared, since I haven't really had any at all. There's no bullfrog look, at least not more than I looked before the procedure.
Most individuals will start to see results in as little as 48 hours, but it can take up to ten to twelve days for you to see noticeable results. This means that if you’re planning to get Botox for a special event, you should get it at least a week to 10 days in advance so the result have time to show.
