Great question and very common! Up to 25% of rhinoplasties will require a revision, so you are not alone. Typically surgeon's will want to wait 6 - 12 mos prior to considering revision on a rhinoplasty, and the wait can be longer if this is not the first time that your nose has been operated on (re-operation). Inside of the 6-12 month timeframe, there is still considerable swelling, active healing, contraction and scar formation taking place. As a result, the "true final" result of a rhinoplasty cannot be judged until these processes have largely ended. Shifts in the shape, angulation of the nose can occur following rhinoplasty as the tissues begin to contract and settle. It is common for these shifts to produce changes as the nose heals that may differ slightly from the original post-op result. As a result, patience is key with rhinoplasty recovery! Hope this helps! Good luck
