I am beyond grateful for the exceptional care I received from Dr. Katzen and his entire team. After years of researching and a year-long communication with his office, I chose Dr. Katzen for my surgery, and it was the best decision I could have made. His bedside manner is unparalleled; he was always available to answer my questions and ensured I felt comfortable throughout the process. The initial 10-day recovery near his office was seamless, thanks to the amazing nursing team they recommended. Even after returning home to Las Vegas, they checked on me daily, and at 8 weeks post-op, Dr. Katzen personally removed the last of my drains. The results are outstanding—my scar is minimal, and I feel amazing. Since having the silicone removed, I’ve experienced increased mood, clarity, and no more fatigue; the numbness in my leg has also disappeared. I chose to do the open technique and I added mid section lipo. I am 100% confident I made the right choice with Dr. Katzen and his team. Thank you so much, Dr. Katzen!
Dr Katzen and his staff are amazing! From my first consult through all of my post surgery appointments, everyone was incredibly kind. Dr Katzen is truly amazing at what he does, and genuinely cares about his patients. He gave me a great tummy tuck after I had lost almost 100lbs, and I am very happy with my results. When I had a minor complication, he and his lovely staff were incredible, and regularly followed up with me to make sure everything was ok. I moved out of state and he and his staff still called and emailed frequently to check on my recovery. I can’t thank him and his staff enough for their care! If you decide to go with Dr Katzen for your procedure, you won’t regret it!
I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to have found this doctor for my plastic surgery after losing 178 pounds. Not only do I look phenomenal, but the process was more less daunting than I anticipated. The doctor is always available and his team is super responsive. I researched plastic surgeons and it paid off. I got the best and I hope if you’re considering any plastic surgery you visit Dr Katzen‘s website. He’s not only extremely knowledgeable, but with such a tremendous bedside manner and his team reflect his leadership. I had a 360 lower body lift and a crescent, high lift and an arm lift And he schedule them all for me so I could leave for home the UK soon sooner than I thought. Feel super fortunate to have found him and I know you will too.
I had surgery with Dr. Katzen in November. It’s about to be three months. I could not be happier. Dr Katzen and his staff are godsent. I had biopolymers for 14 years with significant migration to the groin and down the legs. Dr Katzen removed 92% of the product. In my case, 95% of it was in the fatty tissue. I no longer have any symptoms. No itching, no warmth in the area, no discomfort when sitting or wearing certain clothes. I stayed in LA for three weeks although he requires 10 days. I wanted to be there until at least two of the drains were removed, but you are safe going home with them. When the drain output is low enough at home, Dr. K will be on Facetime with you instructing you(family member) on how to take them out. I had 4 drains in total, one in each buttock and one in each leg. The day before flying home, we were able to have the two on the left side taken out. I didn’t stay at an aftercare, they said it wasn’t necessary for this procedure. I took my husband and my parents with me and even them three were hands full. You will need at least one person with you all the time. You will have a bladder catherer, you will have drains for 3+ weeks, you will generally be facing down the whole time for around 4 weeks, at around 2 weeks he will tell you that you can start going on your sides a little bit. You won’t be allowed to shower until drains are removed and incisions are fully closed, in my case a month. But all of this will be worth it because you will have healthy glutes, healthy body overall and healthy mind. Your immune system will thank you. If you need to get this surgery done, Dr Katzen is your best choice, he has more than 15 years experience doing this procedure. After surgery, he and his staff will be a phone call away the whole time.
Dr. Katzen really cares about his patient's wellbeing and really does the best he can to give you the best results possible. His whole team is amazing and so sweet and are always there to answer any questions you may have (pre/post-surgery). Dr. Katzen is truly present (and does the best he can to break down procedures so you can understand) with his patents and is also so helpful post-surgery on how to properly clean the wounds etc. I am post-op almost 2 months and I am healing amazing and are guided by a whole team (POP RECOVERY) who is supporting me in so many ways (mental health, wound specialist, recovery coach, nutritionist, etc.). I Love Dr. Katzen and are so greatful I found his talent; this man truly changes lives.
I had a gender affirming surgery with Dr Katzen in November 2023, a year later & I’m still so happy with my results. Dr. Katzen helped talk me through & understand the different procedures I could have done to have my breasts removed & have a flat & more masculine chest. Dr Katzen & his staff are all so kind & very professional. They always made me feel welcome & took great care of me. My life has changed drastically since my visit, Dr. Katzen’s work has made me feel more confident & the most me I’ve ever felt. I would highly recommend Dr. Katzen
If you are here because a doctor in Miami promised you a larger penis and scrotum size with a “secret formula” then let me tell you about my journey: what this formula ended up being was silicone, which is not FDA approved. Not only the procedure was painful but also expensive; after 12+ months of after care, it became just an array of infections and complications. Some days I could barely walk because of the swelling. The scrotum would swell the size of a melon and it would be impossible sometimes to even put on pants without immense embarrassment. Two years of this ordeal that affected my work, every day life, and relationship (intimacy was almost non-existent). After coming back to the original doctor to get it fixed, the approach by him was the same: prescribe strong antibiotics and corticosteroids which would work for the time I was taking them and after they ran its course, it would go back to the same repetition of infection and discomfort. Knowing he wouldn’t be able to fix the mess he made, I started to look for doctors that could fix this. Then I found Dr Katzen’s video on YouTube where he removes silicone from a patient penis. I still did a consult with the other two doctors but Dr Katzen standout immediately. I have worked in healthcare for 13 years and his approach, bedside manners, and sincere concern was outstanding. He listened, he was clear about his plan to fix it, about the post-care, there was no doubt after my consult that he was legitimate. Not only is he more than qualified, I wanted transparency and this is what I found in him. This was not an alone effort either, the staff at his office is so remarkable I could write a different review about them. Thank you Anna, Jessica, and Ariel. You treated me like a human being, you were also caring, helped us to get all the paperwork together, worked with our schedules since I am in the East coast, even when we returned home, they checked if we had made it home ok. That is going the extra mile, and I will forever be thankful for making me feel human again after I thought my situation was a lost cause.
Hey ladies, So I came to Dr. Katzen to have silicone removed from my butt. So I had silicon injections 17yrs ago. In 2018 I had some removed by Dr. Mir in ny. However he left a lot behind at least that’s what I thought. Saw Dr Katzen in a virtual consultation in 2021 and then again in 2023. Reviewed the MIR with me and went through what I would need and how long the procedure would take. So finally in 2024 I had the money to do the procedure. I must say I was excited and nervous at the same time. I was tired of all the symptoms I was experiencing from the silicone. Such as anxiety, fatigue, enlarged thyroid, trouble sleeping, aching joints etc. Just overall not feeling healthy. They gave me a list of things to purchase most things my nurse brought with her automatically. Yes ladies I hired a nurse. From my experience after this procedure you will need help and it’s best to hire professional help. My nurse cost me $5000 for around the clock care. Such as making sure I’m taking all my medications. Making me 3 meals a day, checking my vitals etc. So I flew in from NC to Los Angeles. And stayed in a Airbnb for 14 days. Dr Katzen required you stay local for 10 days minimum. So surgery day was Wednesday 10/30 at 6am. We went through taking pictures and pretty much everything we had already discussed at preop the day before. Once pictures was done I layed in the bed. They got my iv going and next thing I know I was sleep. I woke up and the procedure was done. I was not in pain at all. Transportation services were required. So ambulance picked me up and transported me to my Airbnb. The traffic was terrible. We left the surgery center around 5pm and didn’t get there until 6:30p. I was sleeping the entire way. Once home my had everything set up for me. Checked my vitals etc. Made sure I took all my medications. By day 6 it was it was time for me too go to the doctor for my postop visit. He checked my drain log and determine that we needed to leave the drains in explained how important it was for me to drink a gallon of water a day. also to drink 3 to 4 protein shakes per day. He told me that it was mostly scar tissue and the last doctor got most of the silicone. My main concern with my butt was the hardness and other health issues it was causing. I’m hoping that the discoloration completely goes away. He said that he cut most of the discoloration off so what time it should go away. He said that we have to give it at least six months. Once I hit one month postop, I’ll post a picture and keep you ladies updated so far. This was a five star experience and I would highly recommend Dr.Katzen. Also, I almost forgot these are the symptoms that have since improved. I no longer have anxiety. My skin is so much softer, my joints don’t hurt anymore. And I’m not as irritable. I overall feel way better. Dr. Katzen stated the thyroid takes about six months to go back to normal size. Also, my lymph nodes used to feel painful now they are no longer painful.
Dr. Katzen is one of the best doctors I’ve ever been to! He took such great care of me, was patient, answered all my questions, took my calls no matter how busy he was, and his work is amazing! He gave me follow up care for months after my surgery until he cleared me. I would recommended him with every fiber of my being!
I had an amazing experience with this doctor. Not only was he extremely nice you can tell he cares about his patients well being and will make sure to answer any questions you might have. I am 5 months post opp from Lipo and am very happy with my results. I am really thankful to Dr. Timothy Katzen and his team for being so attentive throughout my whole recovery.
Hello, and thank you for your question regarding an upper abdomen bulge following a tummy tuck on a male patient. Thank you for your history, and thank you for your photos. Since you are only 12 days from your tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, the area pictured above your umbilicus or belly button is swelling. This swelling could be normal, a seroma, or a hematoma; however, a seroma or hematoma would be unlikely. It is too early to tell anything, 12 days postop. You must wear your compression garment and follow your plastic surgeon's instructions. Follow-up with your plastic surgeon is very important to be sure you do not have a seroma or hematoma. Regarding the rectus abdominis muscle repair, it is too early to determine anything 12 days after your abdominoplasty. If you are concerned that the muscle repair is not done, you can request an ultrasound, CT scan, or MRI of the abdomen. These radiographic techniques will help to elucidate if the muscle repair was done, and if any of the sutures have broken. In conclusion, it's too early to tell anything. You must wait at least 6 to 8 weeks until the swelling subsides. Please take a look at the above radiographic studies to investigate whether the rectus abdominis was repaired. However, even 6 to 8 weeks after surgery, most plastic surgeons would not recommend repeat surgery to repair the muscle if the muscle had not been repaired. Therefore, most experienced plastic surgeons recommend you wait at least 4 to 6 weeks before making any determination. Good luck. I hope I've answered your question regarding an upper abdominal bulge 12 days following a tummy tuck on a male patient. I hope this information helps you find answers regarding your tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. If you have any questions regarding tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, please contact an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. Since the tummy tuck is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the tummy tuck. Do your research. Ensure they have performed at least 150 tummy tuck surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Hello, and thank you for your question regarding a painful, tight erection 1.5 weeks post-op a mini-tummy tuck, and whether the pain in the penis is due to swelling or if the skin is too tight. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Ten days after a mini tummy tuck is too early to determine anything. Especially when liposuction is involved, it takes a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks for the swelling to disappear after liposuction. In some patients, liposuction swelling takes longer to dissipate. In addition, if you had a surgical procedure with a drain, the swelling may remain longer. Swelling after a mini-tummy tuck and liposuction can accumulate in the suprapubic or FUPA region. This swelling can lead to pain in the penis and the scrotum. You must follow up with your plastic surgeon. However, in almost all cases, the symptoms you describe go away with time as the swelling dissipates. Ways to decrease the swelling should be discussed with your plastic surgeon. In general, swelling of the scrotum can be minimized by elevation, compression, anti-inflammatories, and ice. Elevation can be achieved by keeping your legs together and placing the penis and scrotum above the inner thighs. Additionally, athletic supporters and compression garments can be used to decrease edema or sweling of the scrotum and penis after a mini-tummy tuck. Another way to decrease the swelling in the pennis and scrotum is by applying ice or frozen peas. You must check with your plastic surgeon whether these modalities are acceptable. Some plastic surgeons do not recommend using ice due to vasoconstrictive properties, leading to poor tissue oxygenation and the risk of frostbite. Therefore, you need to follow up with your plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question regarding regarding painful, tight erection 1.5 weeks post-op, and whether it is due to swelling or if the skin is too tight. Good luck. I hope this information helps you find answers regarding your tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. If you have additional questions regarding tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, please get in touch with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. Hello, and thank you for your question regarding whether you should fix your loose abdominal skin after losing 70 pounds, now that you are a 26-year-old 6-foot-tall male with a fit and healthy lifestyle. Thank you for your interesting question. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Most experienced plastic surgeons would agree that you could undergo plastic surgery now. You should get excellent results with your lifestyle and dedication to clean eating and exercise. Patients who get the best results undergo abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or 360 circumferential lower body lift, then continue to exercise and lose weight after their tummy tuck or body lift procedure. It is highly unlikely that you will lose so much weight that you would need a revision tummy tuck or lower body lift. Therefore, most plastic surgeons would agree that you could undergo an extended tummy tuck or body lift at this time. You do not need to wait six months. Good luck. I hope I have answered your questions regarding whether you should fix your loose abdominal skin after losing 70 pounds, now that you are a 26-year-old 6-foot-tall male with a fit and healthy lifestyle. If you have more questions regarding the tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, please get in touch with an experienced plastic surgeon. Since an abdominoplasty can be difficult, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing tummy tucks. Do your research. Hello, and thank you for requesting whether you should have aggressive lipo or a bra line lift. Thank you for your history and your picture. Most experienced board-certified plastic surgeons would recommend that you undergo aggressive back liposuction. The back fat is sometimes difficult to remove and is hidden underneath significant tight connective tissue. Therefore, most plastic surgeons use the VASER liposuction technique to get superior results with back liposuction. Most plastic surgeons would suggest you undergo VASER back liposuction. The bra line lift is also called a horizontal torsoplasty or an upper body lift. This is an excellent procedure; however, it leaves a visible scar across your back. Therefore, go with VASER back lipo; I think you will be happy. Good luck. I hope I've answered your question, whether you should have aggressive lipo or a brow lift. Please get in touch with a specialist if you have any more questions regarding horizontal torsoplasty, bra straplasty, or bra-plasty. Since the horizontal torsoplasty, bra straplasty, or bra-plasty, is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the horizontal torsoplasty. Do your research. Ensure they have performed many horizontal torsoplasty surgeries and have the before-and-after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. If you cannot find an experienced, horizontal torsoplasty, bra straplasty, or bra-plasty plastic surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Hello, and thank you for your question regarding whether you need a body lift or if there are equally affected non-surgical alternatives. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Due to your 110-pound weight loss, your skin has been stretched. The skin can only bounce back so much, even if you exercise and diet. Therefore, your best option is a 360 circumferential lower body lift. A 360 circumferential lower body lift is called a belt lipectomy or lower body lift. Since the skin has been stretched, the only solution is to remove the skin. There are no non-surgical alternatives to removing skin besides a 360 circumferential lower body lift. Most experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons specializing in the lower body lift would agree that you would get excellent results with a 360 circumferential lower body lift based on your history and photos. Good luck. I hope this information helps you find answers regarding the 360 circumferential lower body lift. If you have any more questions regarding the lower body lift, 360 circumferential lower body lift, belt lipectomy, belt abdominoplasty, or belt dermolipectomy, please get in touch with aa experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. Since the body lift is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the lower body lift. Do your research. Ensure they have performed at least 150 circumferential lower body lift surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it.
