Dr. Tanghetti and the entire staff were very helpful. I used their services to remove six tattoos four very large and I feel that they handled it with excellent care. I would recommend them and have recommended them to many friends.
I had an amazing IPL treatment with Amanda. I came in to get rid of age spots and even out my skin tone on my face and chest. She made me feel completely at ease and gave me very good instructions on after-care. The procedure just felt like little zaps against my skin and got more intense the closer it was to my nose. Your skin feels hot after the treatment, so she gave me these ice rollers to roll on my skin and those made my skin feel more comfortable. Amanda said I would be uncomfortable for about an hour after the treatment and my skin would feel hot. It felt like a sunburn right after. She gave me a bag of ice to cool my skin down and by the time the ice had melted in the bag, my skin felt fine. I just put a bit of makeup and sunscreen on to look less red. Amanda explained that the pigment would come off like coffee grinds over a weeks time. Every day I woke up and could see changes to my skin. I am currently six weeks out and I could not be happier with my results! All my family members keep remarking on how great it looks. Will definitely get this treatment again!
This is a great tool to check your skin for wrinkles, pores etc.... A few things I learned, this must be done on clean skin and I shaved my face, tiny hairs can be scanned as a wrinkle. For me, most of my problems can be resolved with IPL and Dysport for the wrinkles. I hope to repeat Visia after I complete the IPL treatments.
I just went today for a consultation.Doctor Tanghetti took his time to explain everything and suggest what it was best for me. He answered all my questions and you can see he is not trying to sell you some procedure you may not need. You can tell he wants the best for you. I have a Dysport treatment first time ever. I was very scare of the needle. However, I did not feel anything. He did a great job. I highly recommend him
I can't say enough great things about my experience with Dr. Tangetti and his staff. After thinking I'd be stuck with a adolescent mistake for the rest of my life, I was pleasantly surprised to see almost immediate results and a few tattoo removal after 5 treatments. If you were like me, and wanted a bad tattoo removed, this is the place to go! Thanks
When I was 19 I decided rather impulsively that what was missing from my life was a tattoo. I distinctly remember several people trying to talk me out of it, or to at least think it through a little longer, but if anything the discouragement from others seemed to push me along even faster. Before I knew it, I had a good-sized band of a rose on my right upper arm. I regretted the tattoo almost as soon as I got it, and I can relate to a lot of the feelings of depression and anxiety that I have read in other people's stories here. It is amazing how such a seemingly small thing can affect your outlook, but I completely identify. I got my tattoo 14 years ago, and along the way my feelings towards it have ranged from forgetting it is there to acute anxiety that keeps me up at night (rare, but extremely unpleasant). About 4 years after I got the tattoo I went to a clinic to see if it could be removed and the technician told me that there was too much green and that it would never come off. I was EXTREMELY disappointed, but was hopeful that at some point there might be a laser that could get the ink out. I waited, and just recently experienced one of those anxious nights where all I could think about was getting the tattoo off. I found this site and was extremely encouraged. It has been very helpful to read about the process and to see pictures. I feel that I now have realistic expectations. Ideally of course I would love to completely erase the tattoo, but I realize that there is a pretty good chance that won't happen. Worst case scenario, I would like to fade the tattoo so that's it's easily disguised with make-up. I'm not interested in a coverup. The day that I decided that I was 100% going to make the consultation for the tattoo removal (and even making that decision was tough, what with all the unknowns) something happened that solidified the decision. I went to the gym and worked out. One of the owners said to me (God knows why he even told me) that another patron had asked him my name. He said to me that he said to her, "Curly hair, prison tat? That's Kate." I was sort of like, wtf. I mean, PRISON tat? But he totally didn't mean anything negative by it, he was describing me (and my tattoo) as he saw me. So then and there I was like, Yeah, I'm going for it. I went for the consult today and ended up getting my first treatment done. I feel like I have a pretty high pain tolerance but damn that HURT! Especially the inside of the arm. The nurse was great, and used cold air. She told me I could take a break at any time, but I somehow powered through it in one go. Several hours later and the dressing is still one. I'm not having any pain at all, and don't think I'll even have to take a Tylenol, which is a relief (but we'll see, haha). I'm posting pics before my first treatment. As you can see it's starting out fairly faded. I'll try to post followups every couple of weeks. I'm grateful for this community and looking forward to being a part of it. :) Updated on 7 Feb 2014: Here they are! Updated on 19 Feb 2014: It has been 2 weeks after my first treatment, and I'm pretty much all healed up. I am pleased with the results -- the fading isn't exactly dramatic, but I can see it. I don't see too much happening with the red and the yellow, but the nurse told me that those would be the most stubborn areas. The fading is most apparent in the leaves and the vines. I'm hoping that after a few more treatments things might really start breaking up. :) I've been trying to eat healthy, drink lots of water, and get plenty of rest, as many people here have advised to do. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the whole thing. It feels good just to have gotten started with this after so many years of regretting the stupid tattoo. I'm going to schedule my second treatment 7 weeks after the first. It is very hard to be patient, and as long as I don't have problems with healing or scarring I will probably schedule treatments 7-8 weeks apart. I keep reminding myself what so many others have said here -- fading is a continuous process and that patience is a virtue when it comes to this. I wish it was a little easier. I hope you all are doing great and look forward to reading all of your updates as they come along! Updated on 28 Mar 2014: I went today for my second laser treatment. I have had some fading in the green / vine areas of the tattoo, but not much in the red or yellow of the flower. I asked the laser nurse Heidi if she could treat the red and yellow ink with the nd Yag laser and do Picosure on the vine, since it seems to be working well. She told me that she isn't supposed to start with the nd yag laser until minimum of the 3rd treatment. She lasered the tattoo with the Picosure, and it was much less painful this time. Maybe it was just that I knew what to expect. Once she went over it she noticed that the flower part of the tattoo wasn't frosted or swollen, so she decided to use the nd yag laser over that part after all. She bandaged me up, I went to work out, and now I'm home. I've had a peek under the dressing and there is a tiny amount of blistering. Mostly the skin looks inflamed around the vine. In any event, I'm not worried about it. I've decided to take the advice which I keep seeing pop up on this forum, which is to take your time in between treatments . . . so I scheduled my 3rd treatment 3 months from today. I did notice the the tattoo was slowly fading all along, so it seems I might as well take advantage of that, as well as allow the skin to heal up nicely in between treatments. I've had the tattoo for so long that, although I can't wait for the day that it is gone, I'm not in a mad rush to get it off (though I can completely relate to that mindset). I will post pictures in 2-3 weeks once I'm all healed up. Hopefully there will be some nice fading going on! I wish you all well out there, happy weekend, and happy fading. :) Updated on 20 Mar 2015: Hello everyone, Well, when I went to update my profile I saw that it has been a year since my last update. I have had poor follow through with updating to say the least, but I have been getting treatments and the fading is pretty apparent in the pictures. I've been waiting 3 months between treatments and will continue to do so to achieve maximum fading and skin healing. I have felt much less anxious about my tattoo since starting the laser treatments. I'm not sure if it's because the tattoo is lighter, or if it's that I feel empowered knowing that I am doing all that I can to get rid of it. The tattoo is a faded mess, but I feel no worse about it because I never liked it anyway! I have been keeping up with your posts sporadically and just wanted to give a little update. Sending good thoughts and cheer to everyone on this site who is going through the same process. To be continued...... Updated on 8 Jul 2015: Heading off to get my 7th treatment in a few minutes. As you can see, there is still plenty of ink, but there has also been some dramatic fading. When I went in for my initial consultation I was quoted 8-10 treatments. Yeah right! Even then I knew that was total BS. At this point I'm mentally preparing for 15-20 treatments to get as much ink out as possible. Expensive? Very. But I cannot tell you the weight that has been lifted from my chest since I started laser treatments a year and a half ago. There is no easy answer -- but there is hope! I'm going to wait until the end of October get another treatment after this one. I have been totally diligent about keeping the tattoo covered, and as a result I have a white stripe around my upper arm where the skin is really pale. After I heal up this time I'm going to get some sun and relax a bit. It's hot! I'm feeling very optimistic and hoping that everyone else out there dealing with this issue is making it through as well.
November 13th was my first treatment with a new laser machine at Dr. Tanghetti's office. The new laser treatment brought almost immediate results; far better than other machines. Additionally, the results were dramatically better while the recovery time was much shorter. I am absolutely thrilled with the new laser machine and I can't wait to receive my next treatment. I am looking forward to seeing the results!
I had Voluma added to my cheek bone area. This really works by adding volume to the cheek bone area it created a lift that makes me look younger without being obvious. Dr Tanghetti and Kathy evaluated my face and discussed my concerns. They then recommended about 2 syringes of Voluma in each side for optimal results. They told me that after 2 weeks any swelling or bruising would diminish and the results would last up to 2 years.
I just wrote a very detailed review and then lost it because I clicked out accidentally! I want to get this rolling so I'm posting the basics now:) First of all, thanks to everyone for sharing your removal process- I'm another one who has benefited greatly and want to add to the wealth of info. on here! I will share more of my motivation later. I relate to some of the difficult stages of regret but am feeling positive/ at ease about the whole thing now. Luckily I think many tattoos are beautiful and so no negativity there- but am also totally clear and resolved to remove mine! These tattoos are all 10+ years old and professionally done. I only posted sections as to keep this private from anyone who could recognize them. These pics. aren't of too much value since I have no baseline but they are a start! The first 2 had much darker, bolder outlines then the 3rd, which was crappily done (funny how that's a good thing now:). The first 2 are around 2 by 2 inches and on my inner arm above my wrist. The 3rd is a section of a 3/4 sleeve- but not a solid sleeve. As you can probably tell, I began coloring it in and then realized that I wasn't going to be any happier with it so luckily stopped. The sleeve has black outline, some shading, the green and blue scales and red flames (yay!) luckily the flames are sparse and pretty light on ink- I will have to treat them with a different laser later. All tattoos responded very well to the pico treatment. The two smaller tattoos had blue- in the frame of the 2nd and in 2 squares of the 1st- all is 95% clear- only a faint hint of blue left, if any. The 2nd had purple in the little round clouds at the top of the frame and that is 100% gone- the outline faded and broke up. The first had the thickest lines and they are thinner and faded. The yellow in the 2nd looks unchanged to me but I'm fine being left with a little sun burst on my arm. The sleeve's outline is the most drastic- it is almost gone in places. The bright green in the scales faded and turned to yellow- -we will see what happens with the yellow(?) and the blue is greatly faded. The colors were newer and very bright- about 4 by 1 inch filled in. I plan on booking a treatment at Trueskin in the coming weeks. The price I listed was in CA- the UK treatments will be 799 euros! I'll leave quite a bit of time in between passes. My goal is 3 passes by summer:) Also, I'm a runner in my mid 30's- don't smoke. Thanks again! Updated on 14 Feb 2014: Hi, I finally got over to Bluewater- took 2 high speed trains and a bus from Paris (3 hours)! Wow, what a production- I am trying to keep the negativity at bay- so many other things I could have done with a full day and 500 pounds and 100 euros:) Holly was my laser technician and she was very nice- which helped quite a bit. I used the cool air machine but no other pain relieving substances. I'm fairly dissapointed about the effects this time around but I know that is standard- less obvious fading right away. The damage to my skin was much less this time, almost nothing but managable swelling and redness on one arm and the little bumpy blistering on the dragon. She had it at a 3. I'm guessing that wasn't strong enough for the lighter- dragon arm ink. I'm only doing a section of that tattoo at once at the moment because I was scared of swelling and can't take the time out to have a club arm. I'll post another set in a few weeks, if they are healed. Hope these are helpful! Updated on 14 Feb 2014: Updated on 14 Feb 2014: It's being developed in Princeton's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I looked up the patent and they are hoping tattoos can be removed in 1 or 2 times- right away or over weeks! They have a prototype and just got funding for trials for FDA approval. I am very exited, however I have no idea how long it actually takes from prototype to approval to market....?! Thoughts? Insight? http://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S38/98/87S93/index.xml?section=topstories Updated on 14 Feb 2014: Yay! I'm terrible at posting:) Updated on 3 Mar 2014: Updated on 3 Mar 2014:
I've been a long time patient to this place and now that they don't except out of pocket payments they kick their patients to the curve. I felt alone and angry at this place. A place I thought I could trust. I've been struggling with acne for years now and I get so down about it. To have to go to a completely different place now upsets me. I did not get a good enough explanation from them.
For a non-invasive option for neck tightening and crepey skin, Vivace is a device that I use extensively in my practice for this purpose. The heat from the radio frequency and the epidermal damage from the microneedling in the Vivace device stimulate collagen production to produce firmer, tighter and younger- looking skin. The skin's texture and tone is improved as well. Keep in mind that a series of treatments is required to see best results typically we recommend a series of 3-5 treatments. Micro botox, while it can help release some lines that are caused due to movement, won't work to address the crepey skin, which seems like it is your main concern.
IPL is not an option I would recommend for melasma, particularly given your skin type as it can actually cause a worsening of melasma. Using hydroquinone is a good first step, but keep in mind that topical products can take some time to work, so give those products at least 3-4 months before you start seeing results. If you are looking for a device treatment to supplement your home-use products, treatments with the PicoSure laser are effective for patients with melasma. This laser has been studied in Asian skin types and has shown to be both safe and effective.
Typically when treating acne scars with the PicoSure laser, we usually recommend 3-5 treatments. So you likely did not have enough treatments to achieve an ideal result. There are other modalities that also work very well for acne scarring. In our practice, we utilize the Vivace RF Microneedling device and often combine it with the PicoSure to tackle difficult to treat acne scars. So you could certainly consider continuing with more PicoSure treatments or consider RF microneedling instead or as an adjunctive treatment. Keep in mind that with any of these treatments, a series of anywhere from 3-6 treatments is generally recommended to achieve the best results.
When instructing my patients on the order to apply hydroquinone products and retinoid products, I typically will have them apply the Obagi Clear morning and night on the affected areas. In the evening, I have my patients first apply the Clear and then apply the retinoid after. If you find that you are tolerating the Roc retinol well and would like to use something stronger, you may want to consider a prescription retinoid.
Given what you've already tried, you may want to find a practice with expertise in utilizing the PicoSure laser to treat pigmentation. The PicoSure with the Focus Optic is effective in treating freckles, dark spots and sun damage on the face. I particularly like the PicoSure Focus treatments for my patients who have a darker skin type or for whom IPL would not be appropriate. Keep in mind that you will require a series of treatments to see the best results, but this could possibly be a good option for you!
