Hi there. So I'm missing teeth 8 & 9 (accident). Surgeon will remove teeth 7 & 10, do cortical bone graft, let it heal, then place implants. Next phase is to remove teeth 6 and 11 and place implants. Dentist says teeth 7 and 11 have hopeless prognosis but tooth 11 may not be able to be rebuilt to support temporary bridge so he suggests to crown tooth 12 for 'support' Tooth 12 is a healthy tooth and I don't want to lose it. Any other options please?
Hello dear Dr I am 30 YO female. I always had a full beatiful lips. I had a dental implant which was removed 4 months ago. My face changed drastocally for the worse since then. My cheek sunk, but the most scarier part- i start few weekd ago to nothice a lip shrinking / atrophy (both upper and lower) in the side of the removal. I also lost a lot of bone. I am now waiting for my surgery which is bone graft and in 6-7 months a new implant. I am so worried that it is not reversable. TYI
I had a dental implant that was screw retained and put in, in 2016. In 2023 I was told that it was loose and they weren't able to tighten it and broke it. They then cemented it in in 2023 without discussing with me that it was no longer going to be screw retained. It continues to fall out. What would be the reason that it couldn't be re-installed being a screw retained implant? It was never discussed with me as to what they were doing or that it was no longer going to be screw retained
I am planning to do an implant in the empty space. As the adjacent tooth is not straight and filled some space in the gap, dentist suggested to cut the tooth to make a straight space. I just dont want tk damage a natural tooth. Any suggestions on alternatives?
My dentist referred me to a periodontist who informed me that I have severe bone loss in my upper teeth and ALL of them have to be removed and I would either need a removable denture which I do NOT want or implants and a combination of crowns and bridges which I was told would be about 30K. The periodontist had me get a CAT scan done. Would a dentist or periodontist be able to tell from a photo of the CAT scan that was done if I really need to have all my upper teeth removed?
In a general since when is one stage an option? Is it only lower front teeth or can you do it with molars? If you can what reasons other than no bone loss do you have to know if you can do a molar in one stage. (I assume never upper molar or upper at all due to the spongy field)
How can I tell the dentist I prefer to not have the crowns? I prefer the abutments and its making me so sad to see my puffed out jaw now having crowns placed on implants in back of mouth.. I have been devastated since they were placed and I have jaw pain. I dont see any way theyd agree having already made several adjustments though. If I ask a different dentist would they be able to remove without causing damage to the implant?
Hi. I have an implant in my second lower right molar. It is moving all over and is very painful to chew back there. It is about 10 years old. My dentist has advised me to have the crown removed, the implant cleaned up with new bone/tissue, and then eventually a new crown put on. Sadly, this procedure is estimate to cost me over $6000 and I simply cannot afford that (disabled and low income). Do I have any other options? Two teeth on either side are good.
Hi i recently had 7 teeth yanked! 4 wisdom teeth, both my second molars on my right side ( #31/#2) along with #19 on my left bottom. i need a bridge on my left side which i'm not too concerned about but my right side is worrying me. i'm not sure if i'll be able to eat properly and was just curious as to what others think. i'm not opposed to getting an implant either if it'll help
