Had 16 extracted 4 months ago (I'm 29) with small bone fragment. Partial bony impaction, crown tilted forward and out to cheek such that bucc. and mass. had to work around it to chew/talk (but function was fine - removal was for minor gum infection). After, face showed unilateral thinning (dntist thinks bone loss and muscle atrophy to be the cause). Platysma and pterygoids are constantly tight, cheek sagging forward. Are there implants that can mimic the bulge of a tooth and reshape the jaw?
Feeling tightness with the upper implant bridge (14/15). No pain. Feels too large & perceive a slight shift in front teeth. Gums don't bleed. Upper implants placed late 9/16. Bridge placed 3.10.17. A piece of impression material had been left on the mucosa (photo) but removed - area cleaned & two antibiotics given/taken/finished. Independent Panoramic x-ray 3.23.17 shown. Grateful for advice as to what to do. Don't want to threaten natural teeth.
10 days ago I had stem cell bone graft an implant I fainted after surgery an have felt horrible ever since I have a headache an the implant area is sore when I smile it swells up and feels tight an sore, I can feel membrane or something which is right where my tongue sits in mouth with is irritating it is bubbling or gum normal an everything else also my jaw is stiff still an hurting.
Can the gingiva make the healing abutment fall out if it was too tightly stitched? If the gingiva has closed over the implant and patient is travelling. What are the consequences of leaving the implant with no healing cap?
Could this implants close proximity to the adjacent tooth be the reason im feeling pressure and tightness or is it the nerve pain that i suffered when the implant prep drill violated the nerve canal. My dr thinks it the nerve pain but in all the parasthesia cases ive read about no one mention tightness and pressure in the adjacent teeth so im wondering if its not a symptom of the nerve damage. Thanks Mike
