I had a dental implant placed 20 years ago in #15 it was placed same day as tooth removal & caused nerve damage to Maxillary branch of Trigeminal Nerve & chronic pain. 13 years later I had the implant removed (the oral surgeon who originally placed it refused to remove it). Would you advise me to not get dental implants anywhere else in my mouth? Just curious for the future. I am a 53 yr old female in good health.
I had 2 implants removed 3 weeks after placement because of nerve damage. It has now been 10 month and I still do not have full feeling in my chin, jawline and half of my lip. I'm not sure what I can do. I have tingling and burning in a very small part but it isn't healing. Can nerve damage start to get better and then revert?
Post-op pain started after 24 h; visit after 72 h: no swelling, perfect healing; CT: not close to nerves, dense bone. On day 7: new CT. Excluded: infection, necrosis, neuropathy. Sutures removed. The implant does not reach the bottom of the hole but that's ok. Doctor thinks I have bone pain - I'm using max Ibuprofen, should I go through this w/ smaller amounts of Ibuprofen? Reduced Ibpf but some dull pain remains most of the time. Pain goes off sometimes or gets reflected to #1. Not sure if pain getting weaker.
There is a slight inclination of the implant on my R side, where numbness on tongue and lips observed ..so if this implant is made straight , will the numbness and tingling sensation be gone ?? It is a nerve damage ? a/c to my dentist , der's a inclination of the implant on R side.
..My implant was placed in 2014 ..all healed well..when the abutment was put in place thats when my issuse began ..Serious facil pressure followed by nerve damage....After almost 2 years my pain has been under control..So i decided to put the tooth back when the abutment was put in the second time to take an impression..the facil pressure was almost immediate...i just had a denatl catscan done..it shiws a Shadow around the implant. .Possible infection???Should this be removed
Three weeks ago i had an implant placed in my mouth on tooth #30 on the right side of my lower jaw. Unfortunately my dentist drilled to far with the implant prep drill and nicked the inferior alveolar nerve. . I now have altered sensation and numbness on my lower lip, chin as well as gums and teeth. He informed me that this might be a permanent injury. A 3d cone beam scan confirmed that the implant is not violating the nerve. I cant decide whether to leave it in or have it removed. Any advice
