My dentist wants to install 6 crowns on my worn lower front teeth, Nos. 22-27, all at the same time. There is no doubt that the work needs to be done, but is this typical to do 6 at the same time? After that he will do the four upper teeth Nos. 8-11. Do you see any issues for a 73 year old male in reasonably good health to have this done? Thanks
I started experiencing pain on lower right where I have two crowns - one had a root canal long ago. The x-ray and other tests came up blank. The pain's location is confusing as it extends to other teeth which are fine. The crowns in the back look fine, and seems to me that the tooth that with the root treated is more sensitive. Could it be that any of the molars have been cracked under the crown? I have bruxism, but this pain is way beyond that.
No implants, have just been recommended that my upper and lower front teeth be crowned with Zicornia preminum and that they, all upper and lower be attached (splinted) to each other. My teeth are functioning well just the veneers were cracked. I am not sure if it is splinted crowns or seperate crowns that are better in my case. I understand there are several issues to be concerned about, cleaning, maintenance, problems with just one tooth down the line. Your advice would be most welcomed
I recently got all my lower teeth crowned with porcelain. The six teeth in the front are thick blocks, they look horrible. I also have pain when brushing two teeth and a 3rd that I complained about being sensitive prior to is still sensitive to touch and temperature which he told me would resolve itself with a permanent crown. Lastly the back crowns look like they're a different color than the front. I just spent over $10,000 with insurance and I would rather have a lower denture. What can be done?
I have two crowns on my lower back teeth where food (worse with steak/ chicken etc) always gets stuck between. When I floss, it's very hard to get the food out. The floss also catches on something on one of the crown's lower edges- like there is an overhang on the crown. Then, when I get the food out, the area is very sensitive to cold (like when I swish water around to clear the area). The dentist is aware of the part that catches on the floss, but did not seemed concerned enough to fix it.
