My new dentist said that theres a 20% risk of needling root canal treatment after getting a crown as it could irritate the nerve, my risk elevated as I have a crack (filled but didnt work, hence needing a crown) and want a porcelain one (more drilling). Just wanted a second opinion on whether this 20%+ figure is correct? This is a lower molar. The dentist is a general dentist whos been practicing for ~6 years.
Got a temp crown on two teeth last week, and later in the day my dentist went on vacation until next week. I have been dealing with pain that worsens at night, trouble chewing, and swollen, red, sometimes bleeding gums. The initial decay was below the gumline so I understand a bit of irritation, but my gums weren't this red before. I also had a strip of dead tissue along the top of my gums come off and noticed some cement embedded. Could I be having a reaction to the cement? Or is it infected?
The crown with root canal treatment on the left is done 9 months earlier from the radio graph was taken. I have been feeling irritation of gums right below the tooth (NO irritation elsewhere) everyday and realized that gums remain swollen and inflamed. Is the open margins on radiograph aeecptable? If not, what are risks and possible solutions to that? Thanks very much.
Root canal=Jan+Feb/18. Had pain/sensitivity, so filling was taken out--medicine in--medicine out-- filling in + 3x antiobiotics --wait 2mo--crown Apr/18. Jul/18=started getting symptoms that seem to get worse: When touching left side of chin or bottom lip=chin tingling...sometimes chin feels cold in places. Endodontist said to see neurologist...Dentist=x-ray tooth, said it is ok, doesn't know what is wrong. Neurologist said it might take 6-9 more months to improve, but not sure if temp/perm...
I recently had a crown put on my two front bottom teeth that were badly chipped after an accident. My teeth were very crooked to begin with and my dentist ended up using one crown to cover both to make them look straight. However the crown is irritating my tongue since i can feel a very sharp edge on the bottom. I also feel as though my bite is too high. My question is, can this be fixed and is it common practice to crown two teeth with one crown when they are misaligned?
I went to an Endodontic fora rootcanal and he did it through temporary crown and now the crown is rough on the inside and is irritating my tongue. He smooth it but said it's thin and if he does anymore then I will back to the dentist for a new temporary. I was in pain for three weeks from a infection in that tooth and the Endodontic dentist did a root canal and it finally feels better so the last thing I want is to take it off for a new temporary. Anything I can do to make it smoother? Wax?
Had a crown (metal/procelain) put on my top molar last week. The temporary felt amazing but the permanent was tight and caused a lot of pressure and pain. I also noticed there is a gap by my gums on the inside. Went back yesterday and the dentist found cement in the gum. I'm still having gum irritation today especially when I bite. As if something is digging in or cutting and It throbs. I sometimes just want to rip it off.
Crowns on the 2 front teeth cemented 4 mos ago.I've had inflamed gums since.Scan and xray were done and dentist reports they fit well.Dentist really pushed hard when cementing them in.I can feel a ridge in the back of the left. The left used to be more inflamed, now the right is inflamed more. Some soreness at gumline on back of crowns.Seems they get more irritated after I eat.Gums never attached to the teeth. Should I re-do crowns?Had temps and perm crowns prior to these and not this problem.
Long story short; I was told I needed 2 crowns. After placement of the crowns, I noticed irritation in between the crown and the adjacent tooth. Something is very sore when poked and it may also bleed. My dentist adjusted the crown saying that there was a little piece that wasn't flush. However 3 years later, the area between my real tooth and crowned tooth is not normal. It will bleed if poked at the right angle with a proxabrush. Should this crown be redone?
