I am undergoing orthodontic treatment for 2 and half years now. I have clear brace. initially they removed 4 tooth for my treatment. I had protruding upper jaw. now, lower jaw gap is removed completely, upperjaw gap still remains. doctor is saying to switch to metal brackets to finish the treatment sooner. they are also saying because of my current brace , my upper jaw are getting over torqued. Am i misguided here??
My orthodontist told me that he does not do Invisalign aligners, but that he does a type of aligners that is very similar to Invisalign. Can you tell me what the difference is and if there are any types of special questions I should ask?
I believe I put my clear retainer in an area that was to hot causing it to distort. I would like to know if wearing for a few days will affect my teeth since I'm out of town and can't get to my orthodontist at the moment.
I am thinking of using Smile Direct Club for clear braces but they don't use buttons/anchors like Invisalign does. Are the anchors absolutely necessary? How is Smile Direct Club able to move teeth safely without the anchors? My dentist said Smile Direct Club could make your teeth loose and fall out because they don't use anchors to hold certain teeth in place.
I think I have started hallucinating that my teeth are going back to how it used to be since I had proper buck teeth I was always self conscious. I asked my ortho about permanant but she said something about it being for only the top 4 teeth and the rest would move . I you guys understand what she meant can by any chance explain. Also if I do get a replacement would they ask me to wear braces again or what I get a new one and it breaks .
Can invisible aligners widen a narrow dental arch? My upper arch is narrow and I would like a broader smile (more teeth showing across) and more fullness in the maxillolabial area. The upper teeth already sit quite far out at the edge of the maxilla, which I am told is accelerating my gum recession. My lower arch isnt as bad, but my lower teeth tilt inward to meet uppers. My bite is OK.
I am 49 and just started ortho work with clear aligners after a relapse of treatment as a teen. I had the first tray put in this past Friday and by Sunday morning I had to remove the tray due to horrible pain. I spoke with my ortho this morning and he said to just put tge tray back in. I'm worried that i've caused irreversible root damage by leaving the tray off for over 24 hours and then putting it vack on. How long does it take for root resorption to happen and should i be worried?
I got three clear retainers to close my gap, every time I wear one I have to wear it for two weeks then go on to the next one. It's been a week and my first one broke in half, is it okay if I skip to my next one? I don't really think it matters because my doctor said that if I lose one I could always go back to one or ahead to one.
