I read that Fraxel can cause PIH in dark skin but Clear & Brilliant laser which is like a baby fraxel is safer for dark skin. Ive had a glycolic 70% peel burn 5 years ago and I still have PIH blotchy skin from that. Im scared of something similar happening again. So is Clear & Brilliant laser safe for my dark skin? Im a Fitzpatrick 5 I guess. Please advise if I should do Clear & Brilliant laser to reduce my PIH from the chemical burn and will it be safe for my skin?
I'm an African American (Fitzpatrick type 5) and my aesthetician recommends a series for 6 Clear+Brilliant Original treatments for rejuvenation. I'm prescribed hydroquinone to pre-condition my skin for 4 weeks before my treatment. Since my treatments are spaced 1 month apart, do I have to use hydroquinone for 6 months straight? I heard using hydroquinone for too long can cause ochronosis? I need a second opinion on this. Thank you.
I got a laser pixel erbium treatment done 1.5 years back for acne scars after which i started developing pigmentation on my right cheek. In order to treat that i was put on hydroquinone and has a very low energy IPL done. After the IPL the patch has become very dark and bigger. Am still on hydroquinone since 2 months. Will clear and brilliant help or should i just stay away from lasers and continue on hydroquinone?
I have always had beautiful skin and over the last year or so I have had rashes that have left hyperpigmentation mostly on my forehead with some spots on my cheekbones. I have skin that tans easily and rarely burns, but my skin shade is fair to light medium. I do get keloid scars in some cases not others, and haven't had scarring from injectables. What can I do to remedy this issue, I rarely spend time in the sun and always wear a solid sunscreen in and out of doors/hat in all seasons.
I have searched and searched and cannot find anything suitable for antiaging that wont exacerbate my melasma and can be done while breastfeeding. I follow a melasma page and the majority of the women in there who have tried clear and brillant had melasma worsen. Same with most any laser. Cosmelan sounds awful and almost everyone had melasma come back super fast after. I'm approaching 40 and would really like to get ahead of this old skin! Help!
I recently had orange peel texture with some damage from a Coolpeel fractional CO2 laser treatment and was told that with 10-12 sessions of C + B, it would dramatically improve my acne scars and damage. Is this true?
I am a 56 yr old Hispanic woman with light olive skin.In 2003&2004 Dr. Geronemus treated me with a series of Laser facialsCool touch laser-12 treatments in 2 years & in 2005 1 fraxel treatment(early Blue dye version)Results:tighter pores, smooth texture&wrinkle free skin. This year with a 10lb weight loss I am suddenly seeing skin laxity, fine wrinkles & crepe-y texture. My dermatologist feels the Clean+Brilliant laser could improve my face&decolletage. What results are achieved with this laser?
